Anybody got suggestions for high potein and low fat food? I know about greek yogurt and quinoa, but it is not enough to get 175 g of proteins a day if I want variety.

Am I doomed to had whey to my smoothies and scream beefcake! BEEFCAKE!!

Sure. Refined sugar is a poisonous ingrediant we do not need, like cyanide, nicotine or E. coli. Fat, proteins and glucose are what we need, but only incertain quantities.

Glucose is sugar brainiac.

Is 175 g of protein a lot?  That would be like 7 cans of tuna.

I eat a lot of fish...comparatively high in protein and low in fat.  I mix it up a little with turkey, nuts, beans , yogurt and eggs.

i have never been one to go for protein shakes and the like.  I enjoy eating too much.

I want variety in my diet, so just eating cans of tuna will not do. Plus all the mercury in them...

Whey is a crotch.

Take yesterday what I had to eat to get my proteins (well I went a bit over). I needed whey to go over 175g.

3/4 cup of greek yogurt (18g)
1/2 cup of egg whites plus two toasts. (22g)
1 can of salmon (26g)
4 pork chops (88g) (2 would have been enough)
6 tiger shrimps and vermicelli (24g)
1 protein shake (52g)

I have been bulking up slowly and running a lot.

Yesterday:

yogurt

salad of chicken, avocado, tomato and peppers.
nuts
dried apricots
a bunch of sashimi
a bunch of beer

Good food doesn't just taste good, it makes you feel good.

Lunch: swordfish sandwich on wheat with avocado, daikon sprouts and fresh squeezed lemon.  Along with an arugula and endive salad with tomato and almonds.

That actually sounds pretty good.  I couldn't eat the green pepper, though - even though it's one of my favorite foods.  They kick my reflux into high gear for whatever reason.  It sux.

I had a pork chop with BBQ sauce, potato salad and a caesar salad for dinner last night.  Pretty good.  For my birthday dinner on Sat we're goin' to this awesome burger place.  I'm gonna have a burger that's got lettuce, tomato, cheese and an egg on it with fries slathered in truffle butter.  Most of their stuff comes from the state and the beef is grass fed only.  It's awesome.

Obviously not, but they take out enough that it loses the flavor. If you're going to eat a burger, which you really should do rarely, you may as well it a real burger with flavor. Otherwise, you may want to just grill up some cardboard and stop bragging about your metabolism.

Potatoes and red and green peppers.
They were good.

That isn't the correct Polish spelling is it?

That stuffing isn't one of the standard ones, sounds good. I ask because here when people say they ate pierogi, they usually add what kind they were.

"Pierogi" is already plural in Polish, no need for the "-es", but I don't think many people care.
Singular is "pieróg" or "piróg", with the latter being more regional, but singular form is usually reserved for bigger stuff you eat slices of, like this thing:

Tostatos (not sure on the spelling, actually. never thought about it before) for dinner tonight. Basically a big flat tortilla shell lathered with refried beans and whatever other toppings you like to put on I usually add either shredded Monterey Jack cheese or ketchup (I know, unusual for a Mexican dish, but it'ssurprisingly good). I'll probably have a green apple too, to help make up for the lack of veggies.

I don't drink soda very often.
I prefer iced tea (with poisonous sugar! ) or water.

I actually drink soda on a semi-regular basis. Like, a 16oz bottle every couple of days. I shouldn't, but it's pretty much the only unhealthy thing I eat/drink with any frequency so it dosen't hurt me too much.

Salmon probably comes in around the middle of my list.  I like it as sushi, in salads, on sandwiches and poached.  My preference of fish is definitely dependent on how it is prepared and served.

Tuna on the BBQ.

Sushi is awesome, but I can't say the fish makes much difference.

I like octopuss marinated tenticules. Nice texture. Is is it fish or sea food?

Seared Ahi is one of my favourites.  I think the fish at sushi is a huge difference.  I like it all, but I love Hamachi and Toro.  Octupus is really good any way...ceviche, sautéed, sushi etc.  I prefer octopus over squid.  I think I have smelled squid rotting a few times too many.

Well, trout are a freshwater group that tends to prefer cold water, so almost certainly a river, though a nearby lake is also a strong possibility.

Can't say I care for most other aquatic animals, though octopus is pretty good.

Salmon is too fishy for me unless it's fresh caught - and I mean fresh.  Like only dead for an hour or two fresh.  Fish shouldn't taste fishy.  That's why I like tuna (fresh caught is the best), halibut (same), yellow perch (they can be frozen for a while) and walleye (same).  Not fishy at all.  Tuna and halibut should also be barely cooked - if at all.  Sear it and eat it.

If you can smell fish when you're cooking fish it's fishy.  It typically happens when the meat is old but some fish just have a very fishy quality to them.  If you like your fish to stink up a room when you micorwave it, you like fishy fish.  And you're disgusting.

Love lobster in particular in tacos and ceviche.  Lobster season ended a few weeks ago, have to wait until October.  Our lobsters are of the spiny variety and do not have claws.  Ironically they are much more expensive than Maine lobsters flown in.  The crab caught locally is mediocre.  When I used to fish crab, I sold them for 1.25 per pound.

Other goodies we get here locally are halibut, White Sea bass and sea urchin.  If the salmon are going to show up this year, it will be soon.

There are perhaps some crummy sushi restaurants that use imitation crab.  Most likely in California rolls, which although I live in California I do not particularly like.  I think imitation crab is most likely to be found where the favour is masked anyways like in crab cakes and crab salad.

(A) I'm in California.  Pretty sure that if they say it's crab and it's actually crab* then they'd get their **** sued into oblivion.

(B) It's cooked, and that's what counts as far as I'm concerned.  I do not like me some raw fish.

Conclusion?  I doubt that the restaurants in town that say they're serving crab aren't serving crab.  But regardless, I don't care.  Because imitation or real, it's not raw fish.
