I estimate they took inspiration from Patrick Rodgers.

I don't get that - if they didn't owe a damn thing on their house and never had a mortgage, how the hell is the bank trying to foreclose on them in the first place?

If I had to wager a guess, I'd say the bank was involved in the sael somehoe, checked their records, and found that they hadn't gotten any money from these people since the initial sale, and just assumed that there was a mortgage and started foreclosure proceedings. To be fair, it wouldn't take much to make that assumption. Buying a house all at once without some kind of loan is a rarity.

I'm going to side with the homeowners and say, "So what."  Clearly, they had no paperwork of a loan at all, so they should not have gone forward with absolutely no proof that they were owed money.

Damn... that is... awesome.

I would have loved to have seen the bank manager's face when he got locked out of the bank.

In the video, the homeowner's attorney says the bank mangers was visibly shaken. I bet the employees enjoyed that show.

Haha, this is awesome. Serves them right for trying to foreclose someone without proof and then ignore them when they're forced to correct their error.

Funny how they ignored the court's ruling for months yet when they were faced with the prospect of losing even more money, they were able to pay up within an hour.

It's all about properly motivating them. Maybe we should foreclose on them when they fail to pay back the bailout money.

Many of them paid it back years ago.  They didn't wait long to repay it.

Actually, there were several companies that tried to pay it back early and the government wouldn't let them.  BofA was one of them, IIRC.

Many... not all.
