Skip the eyelet at the junction of foot to anckle then wrap the excess lacings around the anckle before tying.   Walking shoes normal I guess.  Maybe I should read the link but why do you ask?   Because the link has 36 different ways to lace your shoes Seriously... read it... freaking insane.

Not even zippers on the sides. For those I skip the same eyelet Thunder_Dragonbane mentioned at the foot/ankle junction.
