If you own a business and you hired someone to do your job, how much would you pay them?

Is it the same, lower, or higher than what you get paid?

Would depend on how business was I suppose. If it was me Id be paying them less than me. I guess to be fair they should at least be paid what you would.

Lower. (0 dollars)
If I paid them the same thing that I get paid (as the owner of the business), this would mean that I wouldn't make anything.
If I paid them more, I would go broke (can't pay money you don't make).

This is actually an odd question. Perhaps you want someone to manage your business. This is quite different than finding someone to do your job (owning a business).

I don't get the "you own a business" part of it. Is it supposed to be "if you owned the business you work for how much would you pay the person that does the job you do currently?" Basically "do you think you're worth what you're paid?"

'cus I think I'm worth what I'm paid, but if I had to replace myself I'd hire a less qualified person and pay them less.

Yes. I posted late at night, after a few drinks and half asleep. The question seemed much clearer to me when I posted it.

So yes, it has to do with your current job. How much would you pay someone else to do your current job?

I estimate you are metaphorically inquiring the perceived value of one's occupation.

That sounds fairly accurate.

Man, I'd pay my replacement so much I'd go into debt!
