#1 orenthes Nov 28, 2008 13:59:33	Ok, a good ol' fashioned game of Hurt & Heal, here's how it goes for those of you who don't know. Races Used 1. Elves 2. Half-elves 3. Humans 4. Dragonborn 5. Dwarves 6. Halflings 7. Warforged 8. Drow 9. Minotaurs 10. Eldarin 11. Goblins 12. Half-Orcs 13. Shadar-Kai 14. Hobgoblins 15. Kobolds 16. Githyanki 17. Gnomes This is the end of the list, I know that I omitted some races but there are too many for a quick little game. How to Play: (Example Post) Hurt: Elves Heal: Gnolls Each race on this list has 5 points, each vote of "hurt" makes them lose 1 point, a vote of "heal" replenishes 1 point, a race is eliminated when all points are lost, we're trying to reduce the races on this list to one, giving supreme bragging rights to anyone who has played or is currently playing as the winning race. I'll get this started with... Hurt: Halflings (that'll teach you to steal my stuff) I do not need to heal as nobody is being hurt besides the ones I wanted to be hurt. ((A maximum of 2 votes per poster, but you may not hurt or heal the same race more than once.))

I wouldn't be surprised if that was partially because of the mechanics Half-Elves have in 4e. Cause they are a damn fun race to pick (especially for Starlocks).

With more builds coming out the half-elves Dilettante feature is becoming a very strong feature (I think one of the stronger racial features). On my last vote, I voted drow down because out of those two S&M races I like the drow less.

In (pretty much) every setting they are in, humans are the most versatile race that almost never has been rail-roaded into any sort of archetype. It's not fun to get shafted for going against 30+ years of tradition to play a non-Scottish accent, plate-wearing, heavy-bearded, heavier-drinking, axe/hammer-totting, socially-retarded Dwarf.

Second, humans tend to not only be the most versatile but also the most numerous of all the species. Because of this humans do not behave in a manner that is species specific but rather in a manner that is region specific. This allows for humans to fit into many different types within a setting unlike the one type that is allowed for most races.
