| #1wordserpentFeb 09, 2009 20:41:22 | Here's a question: If a troll can only be killed by fire, then would it be possible to hack a troll up into little bits, then can those bits so they cannot fully grow into new trolls then, when it's supper time, open a can and let the meat grow into a size, big enough to feed the party then...light the barbecue and cook and eat it? What do you think? I understand thee might be some alignment issues here. |

Second, to answer your question, a burning troll is like someone who got COMPLETELY drenched in gas and oil, then set on fire. there may not be anything left to eat. That's just my interpretation of it. |
| #3wordserpentFeb 09, 2009 21:12:51 | Well I wasn't sure which category it would go under since it is mostly nonsense. But as for your burning troll statement, you don't actually burn the troll see, you just render it immobile, say with a hold monster spell, and carve it up and can the pieces before they can grow, then when you are hungry... |
| #4baneofelvesFeb 09, 2009 21:22:47 | I dunno if you'd want to cook them: trolls prolly taste like ****. Umm. I think that unless you really cooked them well, a troll would grow inside you. So it's a risky meal. |

So it's a risky meal. Nah, acid does work against trolls as well, so once your stomach acid hits, you should be safe. |
| #6wordserpentFeb 09, 2009 21:46:36 | Hmm grow inside you, but wouldn't your stomach acids defeat the regeneration? And I know they probably taste awful, but what about troll meat as survival rations? Proper seasoning might also help troll go down easier. And maybe it could be an acquired taste? |
| #7RUMPLESTIXFeb 09, 2009 21:47:35 | Is there a difference with 4th edition trolls? 3rd edition could be killed by fire or acid, I believe. So, your stomach acid should take care of them. Come to think of it, there is also some acid in vomit. Could you run trolls off by puking on them? ![]() |
| #8baneofelvesFeb 09, 2009 21:50:17 | Yes. |
| #9fenrir7139Feb 09, 2009 21:57:33 | I think I remember something about carrion eaters and wolves and such eating trolls, only to die a gruesome death as a new one grew in their bowels. I don't know if stomach acid would be strong enough... |
| #10wordserpentFeb 09, 2009 22:21:26 | Stomach acid is some pretty powerful stuff. I think it has a pH of 1. |
| #11pigknightFeb 09, 2009 22:27:01 | Ever wonder what everlasting rations really are? |
| #12rambaldiFeb 09, 2009 22:39:35 | Hmm grow inside you, but wouldn't your stomach acids defeat the regeneration? And I know they probably taste awful, but what about troll meat as survival rations? Proper seasoning might also help troll go down easier. And maybe it could be an acquired taste? Must be the reason for both 3.5 and 4e having either cantrips for making food taste better of cheap magic items. (don't know of earlier but i am sure they had them as well) |
| #13pigknightFeb 09, 2009 22:41:51 | Isn't eating an intelligence creature EVIIIIIL!? |
| #14rambaldiFeb 09, 2009 22:47:26 | Who said you have to be good plus the smarter the brain the better it tastes lol |
| #15RamienFeb 09, 2009 23:48:21 | Isn't eating an intelligence creature EVIIIIIL!? Yes, but we're talking about trolls here. Just based on the evidence of their internet cousins, intelligence isn't an issue. |
| #16mnemonicsvFeb 10, 2009 5:13:25 | I've often wondered if troll self-cannibalism could ever occur. You know, some troll gets trapped by a cave-in... starts running out of food... I bet his own arm might start looking tasty after a while. Not only would it grow back, but... well... I guess it can't be fattening since it came from him in the first place. I also wonder... do Scrags count as seafood? |
