| #1EscherEnigmaDec 16, 2010 16:41:35 | whether [this] is sacrilegious or not. Thoughts? Random: My thread title made me think of [this song] (warning, dark sense of humor, (what I consider) minor profanity) |
| #2pluisjenDec 16, 2010 16:46:46 | Probably depends on who you ask. |
| #3Robin_HoodlumDec 16, 2010 17:32:49 | Bad taste at least (no pun intended). |
| #4Ragnar_LodbrokDec 16, 2010 17:38:50 | Win. |
| #5toastedamphibianDec 16, 2010 22:21:40 | How could it possibly be? Noone gets mad if you make cross shapped cookies, or Mother Marry. Many christian sects consider eating the physical body of christ a yearly form of worship. How could eating the body of christ as depected by pork be wrong if thoes other two things are A-OK? |
| #6iqwinnDec 17, 2010 2:54:34 | I stand with RH. Very bad taste, to say the least. As for eating the actual flesh of Christ, that's only for Roman Catholics, a doctrine called transubstatiation, in which the priest has the magical power to transform the wafer into the actual body of Christ, and the wine into His actual blood. Protestant churches discarded that heresy a long time ago. Some even go so far as to use only grape juice for their communion services (their claim is that New Wine, unfermented, was the only acceptable form, as fermentation represents corruption; this would explain why unleavened bread, bread without yeast, is used in Jewish celebrations such as Passover, Yom Kippur, etc; makes sense to me). |
| #7pluisjenDec 17, 2010 3:11:59 | Actually it looks very tasty to me... |
| #8Robin_HoodlumDec 17, 2010 7:25:54 | Ya know what... Sometimes I think that if I said I DIDN'T like turds, some people on here would chime in and say they DID like turds.... simply because I didn't.... ![]() |
| #9pluisjenDec 17, 2010 7:31:13 | Actually I could really care less about your opinion. It really does look quite tasty, various meats from the oven with what appears to be grilled cheese... yes please. I could eat something like his. And I'm 99% sure that you would as well if it didn't remind you of something that you feel so strongly about. |
| #10boraxeDec 17, 2010 8:23:24 | their claim is that New Wine, unfermented, was the only acceptable form, as fermentation represents corruption; this would explain why unleavened bread, bread without yeast, is used in Jewish celebrations such as Passover, Yom Kippur, etc; makes sense to me). Except that is not at all the reason Jews eat unleavened bread. They do so cos in their mythology they had to flee Egypt PDQ and didn't have time to let their bread rise, so they eat unleavened (unrisen) bread as a reminder of the Exodus. Facts are free and they're for everyone. Try some, you may like it. |
| #11zombie_babiesDec 17, 2010 12:10:11 | Many christian sects consider eating the physical body of christ a yearly form of worship. Actually, it's a Roman Catholic - and few other orthodoxes or whatever - thing and it's a weekly or possibly even daily thing they do depending upon how often they go to mass. Oh, I read the comments and was surprisingly entertained in a positive fashion by one of the first ones I saw: I never sausage a sacrilege in my life. Needless to say, after that awesomeness I stopped reading the comments in order to maintain what little faith in humanity I have left. |
| #12idhrinielDec 17, 2010 14:07:20 | People and their puns... |
| #13hammersmithpalaisDec 17, 2010 14:49:31 | "Well, we all know that Jesus was a descendant of Abraham
Another amazing comment. |
| #14ADHadhDec 17, 2010 14:57:52 | What a load of baloney. |
| #15toastedamphibianDec 17, 2010 18:37:29 | So... a few less than many? A couple? A gaggle? Did my vague use of the word 'many' really completly invalidate my position as a couple of you seem to be suggesting? Eating Meat: Most christians say Fine Eating Jesus: Some Christians say Great, others not so much Making Dipictions of religious characters: Most Christians say Fine Making thoes depictions out of food: Never heard anyone complain about it before. Not seeing the problem. ---- OH MY GOD THOES SACRILEGIOUS BASTARDS! How dare they bake the symbolic representations of my lord and savior Jesus Christ! Heathens! This is an affront to christians everywhere! ![]() What? But More? I ...? ![]() NNOOOOOOO!!!!!!! |
| #16toastedamphibianDec 17, 2010 21:58:32 | Only if the ORCs agree that mocking them is baiting in the same way that mocking R_H is baiting... Or religion, that too I guess. |
| #17ADHadhDec 18, 2010 3:59:35 | Do I read it right and was my "baloney" comment read as overly negative? Because to me TA's post came out of the blue. |
| #18toastedamphibianDec 18, 2010 4:15:55 | Do I read it right and was my "baloney" comment read as overly negative? Because to me TA's post came out of the blue. Eh? Which one of my posts do you feel related to your post about baloney in any way? |
| #19ADHadhDec 18, 2010 4:59:22 | Do I read it right and was my "baloney" comment read as overly negative? Because to me TA's post came out of the blue. The sudden explosion of snark with Christian food items seems to be the one. |
