I ditched Bell Canada

I have broadband, have had it since hmm I think 97 (memory sucks).
Once upon a time I was with Bell because I figured go with a large corporation as little guy operations might fold or offer lousy service.
I always thought of Bell Canada as being an industry leader.

Hmm I have seen the light though eh.

Recently switched to Teksavvy. If you are Canadian and don't know that name, do yourself a favour and learn more. Here ends the free advertizing for my ISP

Since I dumped Bell ie Sympatico for my service a few things have happened (all good).
Service is now cheaper (saving 15 bucks a month for better service).
Service is faster (the word throttle is something that happens to other people, not me). But I was able to sort that out "unofficially". But I am also getting faster speed, as I was able to communicate with a capable person online that simply new how to "adjust" my settings "unofficially".
Basically I went from a 5meg service to a 6meg service (don't get hung up on the term meg).
I have a 200gig monthly account, not a 60gig account which is about all you can have with Bell at this time.
And if I need to speak to my service, I actually talk to a Canadian (which believe it or not was the main reason I left Bell).
I don't hate Indians from India with horribly accented English, it's not like it's their fault they have horribly accented English.
But I'm an English speaking Canadian that can't understand horribly accented English.
And for 45 bucks a month, Bell Canada has a lot of nerve giving me useless tech support (which is what incoherent tech support generally speaking is).

During 2007, if you had shares in Bell Canada, you likely got screwed.
Their annoying, obnoxious, irritating actions finally went too far with a great many internet users. The accounts were dropping like flies.
Some people have gone so far as to dump Bell regardless of what service it was. The phone, the television service anything.
The ads on TV are not fooling anyone.

And they are being sued by particularly angry Quebecers.
And they have been dragged into court by angry 3rd party ISPs
And if you actually like Bell Canada's service, you are likely also a masochist too

But nothing lasts forever. My interest in Bell sure didn't. In 5 years, who knows what life online will be like. Things change.
My government is changing this fall potentially. I suspect a lot of politicians will be getting their ears chewed on my annoyed internet users.

Any idea who's a good provider on the west coast for that? Preferably someone on Vancouver Island?
