Haven't watched South Park in a while.  TUF is on at the same time, you see, and when it re-airs on Thursday, It's Always Sunny is on so I just have better things to watch.  I could DVR it but I'm lazy and if I just set the DVR to record all new eps, my friggin' DVR'd be full of SP in a day.

Did you see last nights episode?
I was a fan of Josh's, but after seeing how he acts compared to how GSP acts, now I like GSP... and think Josh is a douche.

Dood, I was so hoping that paramedic would put one of his massive fists through Kos' face.  What a punk, man.  Bustin' on him cuz he's a 'male nurse'.  I mean, Kos fights.  So what?  This guy helps people.  Meh, I never liked Josh but now I can't stand him.  And those conspiracy theories of his are insane.  Oh, GSP hired this guy to bust my balls cuz he's afraid to.  Umm ... ok.  And the way he 'apologized' to Red Horse was exactly how an a-hole would do it.  I really hate him now, though, cuz he made me root for GSP.  I'm not sayin' GSP is a cheater, but I saw the footage of them 'accidentally' applying grease to his shoulders in that Penn fight - not that GSP woulda lost anyway, but that's still BS and it makes me mad I'm rootin' for him after that.  He bores me now, too.  Still, I hope to god he beats the hell out of Kos and shuts that idiot's mouth for a while.  That would make me a real GSP fan, I think.  And for that I have to hate Kos more.  Somehow I think you understand.

I stopped watching after the kimbo slice season

That season - aside from Big Country - was totally awful.  So far, the kids this time out seem like they can actually fight and that they, you know, actually want to fight.  There's not a whole lot of stupid BS house 'drama' either since Kos is enough ass all by himself.  Yeah, this season is way less annoying than the last few and, while I doubt it'll produce a champ or even a real contender at 155, the fights have been pretty ok.  The first round of fights are done now, too, so next week starts quarterfinals and two fights per show.  Er, I hope.  I know that's how they've been doing it and they said next week will have two fights but I don't know for sure whether or not they'll stick to that formula.  Anyhoo, it's likely a decent time to tune back in if you're feelin' like it.

EDIT: The only lame thing so far - aside from Kos being Kos - was that this one guy got jobbed out of the wild card fight.  He went in and was expected to get dominated and instead put on a hell of a show and demonstrated he'd actually come a long way since joining the show.  GSP wanted him to get it but Dana wanted the 'best' fighters for it.  Well, one guy from England got picked - and he deserved it - to fight this guy who was Kos' first pick.  Well, that guy got subbed in 18 seconds to a guy they knew would try to sub him that exact way.  So they fight in the wild card and the Brit wins in the second round - by the same sub the guy lost his first fight to.  Yeah.  So Red Horse got jobbed.  Other than that, though, not too much lameness.

I heard the President is gonna be on an episode of Mthbusters (as part of an initiative to get people interested in science again).  I imagine they may not be allowed to blow stuff up while he's around.

Yeah, I wonder what they'll have him do.  And though I expect explosions near the CiC are a no-no, they may still be able to get away with some so long as he's not there.  I loves me some Mythtastic explosions ...

Maybe he can give an introduction or something and they can test myths like the single bullet JFK theory or something like that (along with other stuff)?

Edit: And whatever I think of Obama aside, I think its a good thing for him to try to garner interest in science by appearing on Mythbusters.

I suppose they could also test his religious beliefs and country of birth.  Plenty of myths out there about those.

There's really a ton of White House and related myths out there - secret tunnels, hidden bunkers, etc.  Thing is, I don't think the SS would want those myths tested.  Heh.

I thought that scene was great too.  Especially in light of how much hardship some super heroes have to go through just to retain the anonymity of their real identity.  The "Timmy!" (I'm incapable of saying it without an exclamation point anymore) scene would be like batman appearing out of a cloud of smoke and yelling at the Joker "Bruce Wayne!"

um this is from memory so it might be wrong but i think: Ice was horrible and barely worked, Gelatin was used by adam and had fair results but couldn't make a really good killshot, and I think Jamie's meat bullet held up the best and got a kill shot

Those South Park episodes inspired (more reminded since I wanted to check out his stuff) me to buy a collection of HP Lovecraft stories. There were a bunch of different collections to chose from, but I went with the one that was bound in leather (or something resembling it). Right now, it'll be my next book after finish "The Silmarillion" (which was quite good).

I'll assume that you are referring to "the Silmarillion". I wouldn't say its long but it definately is a really slow read. But I think its quite interesting since Tolkien was great at crafting a world. But if you ever get around to trying it again, its good.

From what limited knowledge I have of Lovecraft, I'm pretty excited to check out his stuff. I should be able to finish "the Silmarillion" today or tomorrow, so hopefully I don't get sidetracked and start something else =P

Supposedly, the real Tolkien wrote "the Silmarillion" and submitted it for publication early in his life (before LOTRs), but it was not published. He worked on and expanded it throughout his life. And after his death, his son edited it (not sure what that actually means) and got it published.

The Lovecraft collection that I bought was called the Necronomicon as a tribute to the fake book in the stories. I mainly got it because it looked snazzier than the other collections. One of the reviews on the Amazon page has the stories that are collected.

What I've read is that Christopher Tolkien collected his father's notes for the Silmarillion. And it really does read like it was composed from different parts, written in different style, written at different times. It is a great read. Did you get the Unfinished Tales? Also a very good reading and much shorter.

No, I do not have the "Unfinished Tales"; what do they discuss? The wife had "The Book of Lost Tales 1 and 2", but thought they were quite boring. She just recently picked up the "Tales of the Perilous Realm" or something like that.

I think it was made. A cheap B movie (still good for its type). It was called Dagon, I believe. Hmmm... But Dagon is also the title of a short story. Reanimator was also made into a B movie. A classic.

They also did a B movie out of another H. P. Lovecraft story called "From Beyond"... Entertaining mostly for the really trippy faux-3D-esque special effects.

Unfinished Tales are three books each detailing legends and characters in Middle-Earth's three different Ages. I don't know if The Book of Lost Tales are the same thing, I couldn't find them in wikipedia.

"The Book of Lost Tales" were Christopher Tolkien first two books in his "Histories of Middle-earth" thing. My wife said the first one was about the Lonely Island, but nothing seemed to happen.

Anyway, I finished "the Silmarillion" yesterday, so I'll probably start the Lovecraft stories at lunch today =)
