Middle of friggin' March in New Mexico, and it's snowing.  Friggin' New Mexico weather. I suppose if it doesn't warm up some, I'll just head up to the gym and use the treadmill, but still...

#5 EscherEnigma Mar 20, 2010 12:57:19	Same thing, Z.  Last week I was jogging in shorts and a light tee-shirt.  Heck, just yesterday I was walking all over town dressed as such.  Today?  Snow. As for weird weather in general... yah.  Weirdest weather I've seen yet down here though was six years ago, when we got a scary-powerful hail storm in October.  Just about every car in town suffered severe damage, a good number were totalled, parking lots littered with glass and golf-ball sized hail, roof tiles were shattered, skylights blown in, and so-on.  Here's some links to pics [link]. ... but yeah.  Weird weather.
#6 zahkaryii Mar 20, 2010 13:02:23	Nasty bit of weather it looks like. It's snowing pretty intently right now, and the radio is calling for blizzards by the end of the day. Tonight should be a cold one, but at least it's an excuse to curl up with the Miss and drink some more hot chocolate. But yeah, I agree; weird weather. The worst part is, similar to yourself, I've been jogging all this week and looking forward to some power training this weekend. Looks like I'm off to the gym again. Ah well.

#8 scypio Mar 22, 2010 8:53:49	(Treadmills are weak and stupid. You should continue to run for real.) They predicted a similar thing here (60s F during the week with possibility of snow Sunday/Monday). It must have gotten warmer than they expected because it reached the 70s and its only raining now. But we supposedly will have a 20 degree drop in temperature. So I made sure to get some tennis in with the wife on Saturday.

I love going to long walks, hikes, and bike rides in the winter. This has been teh crappiest winter in memory - all warm and snowless - and now they're predicting a crappy hot and dry summer, too.

In the 1.3 miles, 25-30 minute walk from my house to where I work, I experienced the following weather... cold spring day hail snow rain fog banks the odd experience of not being rained on, but clearly seeing rather heavy rain across the street a warm spring day ... I hate NM weather...

But the deep freeze in the lowlands and the super warm temps in the mountains at the same time were very unecessary! The damn side walks were slippery as hell that day-- I slipped three- four times just trying to walk to school! But other than that, it stays pretty nice here. It doesn't rain so hard constantly, the sun pokes through every once in a while, we get some nice days too. What's not to like about weather in general? It's just gonna be a part of our life, anyway... What would life be like without weather? Oh, right, there wouldn't be any life... because we wouldn't get any rain... Reality check.

Are you talking about the less-than 35 degree (Fahrenheit) weather week back in December?

#23 zombie_babies Mar 26, 2010 8:59:56	Yeah, we had a week or two of decent temps and some really nice, sunny days.  And then I remembered this was Ohio when it dumped a couple inches of snow on me last night.  I was dumb enough to take my spring jacket with me, but I still had my snow brush in the car.  We'll call that a draw.  The good news is that it'll all be melted likely today and, if not, certainly by EOD tomorrow.

We had a lot of snow this year, man.  Drastic times an' all that.  As far as I know, they're contracted 'till mid-June and then it's off to Iraq with 'em.  I hear tell they got themselves a ton of snow across the pond.

#27 EscherEnigma Apr 23, 2010 12:34:03	In other news, despite that we've had a few really warm weeks, it's not friggin' cold outside.  After taking off the electric blanket and the afghan1 and being fine for a few days, the temperature dropped like a rock.  And then we got hail.  Not golf ball-sized hail, which is a relief2, but still pretty big.  ... I hate New Mexico weather.  Back in Connecticut at least we only had to worry about freak hurricanes every few years.  I'd prefer that over the routinely psycho weather we get out here. ------- 1A blanket, not a person or country.  [link] 2I've already lost one vehicle to a Socorro hail storm, I'd hate to lose a second.
