| #2jetshieldJul 20, 2013 12:49:16 | I finaly found a reason to finaly create a forum profile! And the first thing you do is wander into the Tavern. You poor lost soul. ![]() P.S. You should probably tell him/her that opening the book and reading it works better than trying to learn through osmosis. ![]() |
| #3draco1119Jul 20, 2013 12:49:56 | I thought you said the cat was on a D&D picture? I am disappoint. ![]() |
| #4voswaorgJul 20, 2013 14:01:13 | It is a dnd picture, the cats holding the players handbook. :D |
| #5draco1119Jul 20, 2013 15:03:53 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. |
| #6jetshieldJul 20, 2013 15:11:59 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. |
| #7Cluless_RatJul 20, 2013 15:53:29 | The cat seems fat. You feed him too much. You know they tell you the quatity cats need on the bag. And please tell me you do not buy hte cheap stuff at the groery store or the drug store. |
| #8voswaorgJul 20, 2013 17:10:05 | He just looks fat, its the fur. |
| #9Cluless_RatJul 20, 2013 17:11:55 | He just looks fat, its the fur. This why you bought your GF a fur coat? Oops. You have no GF. No mention of where you get your cat food? That says a lot about you and yoru financial situation... |
| #10The_SilverswordJul 21, 2013 0:59:29 | Youre all a sad, sad lot. Someone could have easily said something along the lines of, Finally a use for the 4e Player's Handbook! But the best you guys can come up with is a lame osmosis joke!? |
| #11draco1119Jul 21, 2013 1:37:56 | Well, I DID point out that the cat was not, in fact, laying on a D&D book. ![]() |
| #12The_SilverswordJul 21, 2013 1:41:49 | The osmosis thing was funnier, the "not D&D" thing has already been done to death. |
| #13draco1119Jul 21, 2013 2:01:59 | Maybe so, bug I still got a ![]() |
| #14The_SilverswordJul 21, 2013 2:30:46 | Jeeze, is that all it takes to make you happy? |
| #15KlirshonJul 21, 2013 5:24:34 | Lies, you know exactly where that "thumb" has been. It came from Onesite. |
| #16ADHadhJul 21, 2013 6:56:18 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. Yep, a superior one. |
| #17homicidal_squirrelJul 21, 2013 13:53:24 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. ![]() You spelled terrible wrong. Fortunately for you I'm a nice guy and I fixed it for you. |
| #18ADHadhJul 21, 2013 18:42:09 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. A superior terrible game, sure. Still bad, still better ![]() |
| #19Robin_HoodlumJul 21, 2013 19:08:37 | It is a dnd picture, the cats holding the players handbook. :D Correction brainiac... the cats sleeping on the D&D book. I don't like cats or D&D. I would burn them both. |
| #20zombie_babiesJul 22, 2013 8:59:02 | I finaly found a reason to finaly create a forum profile! You know that book makes a better litter box liner than bed, right? |
| #21Robin_HoodlumJul 22, 2013 21:29:27 | I finaly found a reason to finaly create a forum profile! ![]() |
| #22garesonJul 22, 2013 23:07:12 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. This. I think it is worn out caused it pooped on classic D&D Monster Manual, tore up a 3rd ed. DM Guide and now it is dreaming about the superior gameplay of 4e. Sleep well, kitty. (Hopefully it won't suffer a nightmare with visions of D&D: Next). |
| #23jetshieldJul 22, 2013 23:20:17 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. There might be something to this. We all know that kiddies like 4e (and ripping paper). |
| #24The_SilverswordJul 23, 2013 2:09:58 | I finaly found a reason to finaly create a forum profile! Thats actually pretty good. |
| #25zombie_babiesJul 23, 2013 8:22:50 | Thats actually pretty good. Yep. Yanno why? Cuz it's da truf. ;) |
| #26zombie_babiesJul 23, 2013 8:23:47 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. I sorta feel what the cat is vibin'. Like, 4e almost put me to sleep every time I played it. |
| #27CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 23, 2013 8:25:14 | I thought you said the cat was on a D&D picture? I am disappoint. For OTTers, you guys have a really long-running butthurt. ![]() |
| #28draco1119Jul 23, 2013 9:31:59 | Seriously - in this case it's justified. Not so much because of 4e itself, but because of what happened to the forums right around that time. There was the Gleemax experiment; there was 4e (which NOBODY talked about beforehand, unlike DDN); there were multiple firings of popular mods; and, best of all, there was all the baiting, flaming, trolling, and personal attacks - by WotC's own head of the forums! So, yeah, this 4e hatred extends far beyond 4e. |

So, yeah, this 4e hatred extends far beyond 4e. I can understand where you're coming from, but it's ridiculous to take that out on 4e and its current fans. It's like a little kid who hates his new stepmother because he was scarred by his biological parents' divorce. |
| #30draco1119Jul 23, 2013 9:59:17 | No, it's more like the kid who beats up his stepbrother on the daily because his stepmother beat him to the point of hospitalization five years ago. |
| #31CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 23, 2013 10:01:30 | No, it's more like the kid who beats up his stepbrother on the daily because his stepmother beat him to the point of hospitalization five years ago. Okay...still not seeming like a good thing to do... ![]() |
| #32Robin_HoodlumJul 23, 2013 10:06:20 | No, it's more like the kid who beats up his stepbrother on the daily because his stepmother beat him to the point of hospitalization five years ago. Why not? Some people deserve a good beating. |
| #33draco1119Jul 23, 2013 10:12:14 | Hey, I never said it was good - or even rational. All I said I'd that its not unjustified. |
| #34CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 23, 2013 10:12:54 | Fair enough. ![]() |
| #35jetshieldJul 23, 2013 11:15:08 | Besides, 4e sucks. Of course, the last edition I was excited about was 2e so not many around these forums consider my opinion important. You youngsters have no respect for your elders. ![]() |
| #36The_SilverswordJul 23, 2013 13:41:48 | You was excited about 2e? I remember looking at it saying, "UH guys this looks pretty much the same". I said the same thing about 3.5! Nobody ever listens to me. |
| #37jetshieldJul 23, 2013 15:31:19 | I was excited because, at the time 2e released, it was definitely time to replace my abused books, and the new edition gave me a perfect excuse to do it. I was young(er) and even more broke than I am now, so I really needed a justification (in my own mind, at least) to spend money I really should have used for something else. The fact that the changes to the system were minor was a bonus. I hate 4e not because it's a bad game (I only played it once so I admit I can't say if the system is actually bad), but because it's not my D&D. It's so far removed from what D&D is to me, that it doesn't classify as the same game, and, therefore, doesn't deserve the D&D name. One of these days I might take a look at DDN and see if it's as far from D&D as 4e was. |
| #38homicidal_squirrelJul 23, 2013 15:35:39 | Yeah, but that's not a D&D book. It looks to be the PHB for some other game. You managed to play it before it put you to sleep? I tried to read the books once. I fell asleep before getting through the first page. In fact, I'm starting to fall asleep just talking about it. |
| #39ADHadhJul 23, 2013 15:48:11 | You was excited about 2e? I remember looking at it saying, "UH guys this looks pretty much the same". I said the same thing about 3.5! Nobody ever listens to me. Funny, 'cause 3.x was the version most removed from a previous edition to date, not counting that whole D&DNext thing, which is shaping up to be a steaming pile. I wish WotC stuck to it's guns with 4e instead of changing it's design policy halfway through and abandoning it now. Also, I don't get how information about structural integrity of stone walls, NPC classes or strict rules about number of controlled minions by Hit Dice are more exciting than a more narrative, gamist approach. Oh, yeah, I do, "all classes are teh same", "it's an MMO", "not muh D&D" ![]() |
| #40zombie_babiesJul 23, 2013 16:08:46 | All classes pretty much are the same. Other than Essentials and Psionics they all run on AEDU, they all get Feats at the same time, they all get Powers at the same time, they all get the same kind of Powers at the same time, etc. That's ... well, it's the same if you're intellectually honest. |
| #41halitosisJul 23, 2013 18:28:24 | 4E? What's that? ![]() |
| #42homicidal_squirrelJul 23, 2013 18:39:21 | 4E? A type of cancer. |
| #43halitosisJul 23, 2013 18:40:14 | 4E? Oh my! |
| #44draco1119Jul 23, 2013 19:15:33 | Yup. Stage 4e brain cancer makes you think you're having fun when, in reality, you're drooling and staring blankly into space. There seem to have been quite a few cases popping up in the last five years or so. Thus far, research has not produced a cure (though they think they may have discovered it on the DDN gene!), but they have been able to regress it back to Stage 3.5. That eliminates the drooling and blank stare, but still retains the "fun". Was this Wiki article helpful? |
| #45captain_obliviousJul 23, 2013 19:32:14 | I know that was not a wiki article because no one has edited the word 'poop' into it. |

| #47draco1119Jul 23, 2013 21:50:04 | No, I said I would probably have to. Bad D&D is better than 4e, but 4e is still better than no RPG. ![]() |
| #48homicidal_squirrelJul 23, 2013 22:29:35 | No, I said I would probably have to. Bad D&D is better than 4e, but 4e is still better than no RPG. Why don't you drink some PBR while you're playing? ![]() |
| #49draco1119Jul 24, 2013 0:45:02 | I'd have to, just to be able to compare 4e favorably to something! |
| #50zombie_babiesJul 24, 2013 8:06:28 | No, I said I would probably have to. Bad D&D is better than 4e, but 4e is still better than no RPG. That's really not true. We thought so for a time and we played that whatever for quite a while. Eventually we'd bring all our stuff over and try to get started only to end up BSing and watching youtube videos (hickock45, fateofdestinee, fpsrussia, etc) the whole time. Much better than 4e. |
| #51The_SilverswordJul 24, 2013 12:44:08 | I was excited because, at the time 2e released, it was definitely time to replace my abused books, and the new edition gave me a perfect excuse to do it. The fact that the changes to the system were minor was a bonus. Yeah, that was the main reason that I got the 2e books as well, My 1e books had pretty much had it, that and the art looked alot nicer. And one of the main reasons that I like 4e is its not 3.5! And yeah DDN is pretty lame, theyre really not bringing anything new to the game. |
