| #1boraxeFeb 11, 2010 9:51:10 | I know it's a year old, but I just saw it again last night: video.adultswim.com/robot-chicken/silver... Has anyone here not had this exact discussion at some point? |
| #2lhockeeFeb 11, 2010 9:55:22 | Once or twice. ![]() |
| #3EscefFeb 11, 2010 10:11:43 | The bathroom scene is way too long. It reminded me of the Family Guy/Star Wars thing, where they milked every joke for as long as they could, espcially the ones that weren't funny. |
| #4ADHadhFeb 11, 2010 14:23:00 | No, because I don't like toilet humour. I'd end that whole scene at the pull-out-gatling-oh-crap point. Still, the DMG looked pretty accurate here (though it should have been Monster Manual obviously). |
| #5idhrinielFeb 11, 2010 14:51:37 | oh....my....god.... |
| #6boraxeFeb 11, 2010 15:33:45 | Yeah, the whole bathroom scene was unnecessarily long (and pretty much just unnecessary) but I killed myself laughing at the D&D punchline, all the more because of all the varations on this discussion I have seen at the gaming table over the years. ![]() |
| #7EscherEnigmaFeb 11, 2010 15:40:33 | I thought fire also worked? I mean, that's pretty standard. If something can't be killed the normal way, then kill it with fire. Fire's pretty universal, ya know? That's why we have that phrase, "Kill it! Kill it with fire!" ... fire. Woo. |
| #8bone_nagaFeb 11, 2010 16:21:39 | Love it, except for the toilet scene. Not that I'm opposed to that sort of humor, just that they milked it long past the point of it being funny. |
| #9darkspartanFeb 11, 2010 19:29:34 | OMG... You sooooo don't want to know. Not just that one, but hundreds more like it. -Sarena |
| #10The_SilverswordFeb 11, 2010 20:41:15 | LOL! I love robot chicken! |
| #11sfdragonFeb 11, 2010 21:09:47 | robot chicken is cancelled.... again |
| #12The_SilverswordFeb 11, 2010 21:16:48 | robot chicken is cancelled.... again What!? Shirley you jest! But any way even if it is true, im sure they have enough of a following that they could still do something like straight to DVD videos or something and still be makin loads of money. Maybe they got sick of posing and reposing all those barbie dolls? |
| #13KlirshonFeb 12, 2010 5:46:28 | I've been in rule arguments/discussions before but not pertaining to the "can only be killed with silver" subject. I thought the video was amusing excluding the defecation scene. |
| #14EscefFeb 12, 2010 12:01:40 | The toilet scene wouldn't have been bad if it was only about 5 seconds long. Instead the length of the scene destroyed any comedic value it might have had to anyone other than drunk or stoned college kids. |
| #15zombie_babiesFeb 15, 2010 10:00:49 | So you guys, like, totally don't get it. Ok. The joke is that the joke was purposefully beaten into the ground. The poo isn't the joke, the joke is that the poo lasted far too long to allow the poo to still be funny. They're playin' with ya on purpose. It's a frequently used trick these days. Use the bit until it dies, continue to use - this is your new bit. Silly, but that's the way they went. |
| #16EscherEnigmaFeb 15, 2010 11:20:06 | So you guys, like, totally don't get it. But it wasn't funny. |
| #17zombie_babiesFeb 15, 2010 11:53:22 | But it wasn't funny. Right. I was just trying to clear up which part was supposed to be funny and which part wasn't. The bit relies upon the first bit failing because of repetition/duration. The joke is that failure. If that's not funny, I totally get it. But that's the part that fails, not the overly long poo. I don't think I'm making any sense at all. I know what I'm trying to say, but I think I'm brickin' it. Oh well, it's totally unimportant. No laughs is no laughs. Failure on all counts. I was jus' goin' inside a bit for no good reason. |
