He was there for quite a while, a few snapshots would remove the "reportedly" or the "supposedly" from the article.   I would like to say it was because they were to concerned about keeping the shark alive but...thats pure speculation on my part.

Yeah, they can get twice that big and weigh over 2 tons.  I know I would not want anything thrashing around on my boat I was not planning for, even if it is three feet long.
