So I didn't imagine it. I saw it as well, but went back later to check up on it, and it had been changed, so I thought I had merely failed a Spot check.

Yeah... their 'downtime' screen is almost always wrong... if I see it and it's not Thursday morning I assume that means that their servers had a hic-up and try to reload in five minutes.

But I do admit, this is the first time I've seen them use the strike-through.

The strike-through was a leftover from their witty 4/1 list o' pranks. They did it as a super funny joke and must have forgotten to remove it.

This makes me sad.

That or they're just too lazy.

Well, it's not a lame joke so they've no real motivation to work on it.

Should this recognition not rather motivate to remove it as soon as possible?

They did. It was still struck through today during a downtime but they corrected it about an hour after it started. 13 days isn't too long where the boards are concerned.

How do we know what timezone the screencap was taken? 9:22 AM in California is 11:22 PM somewhere in the world.

I think you're all ignoring the really important thing here.

We now know Nova Cat's real name, and that he uses a Mac. With that information, oh, the trouble I can stir... MWA HA HA!!

Hey, NovaCat, are you the Matthew Carlson who executive produced the Wonder Years and Malcolm in the Middle?

I am in California. To be fair, though, and in the interest of full disclosure, my clock is roughly 15 minutes fast, but that doesn't hardly account for such a discrepancy.

Look guys, it's really as simple as this: They - for whatever reason - forgot to make a change. I've seen that li'l message display inaccurate info more than once. Also, if you've logged in after the downtime started, you'll still get the message telling you when it did start. It's not individually tailored.
