I've Got Too Much Order for Chaos

Sep 27, 2010 23:40:48 Well in one of my campaigns a major villian is The Mad Hatter in a more modern fantasy setting. But I really can't think of any lines for him to say.

P.S. he's into clockwork robots and human experimentation (think mad scientist).

I would say ignore these guys, and make most of his lines normal. Punctuated by offers and responses that are just wrong. Too much and you will just end up with another caraciture.

Sep 28, 2010 15:52:45 Look at the Mad Hatter in American McGee's Alice. He's into clockwork/biomechanical experimentation - probably has a few relevant quotes for you to use.

Damn right it is! Too bad that, last I checked, it wont run on any operating system windows XP and up. Hope you got a 98/ME system sitting around somewhere.

Sep 29, 2010 20:04:41 Madness is always a fun springboard, but a little goes a long way- he might be a perfect gentleman at times (baron, you fiend!), but for those few little moments when one eye twitches and he suddenly grabs at a PCs hand, murmurs what a pretty little pettycoat you have there, miss bonny bonnet", gives a fake cough that sounds oddly like "skin kite" and goes back to normal. "gracious me, I must have dozed off a moment- care for a spot of tea?" Love him or hate him, those scarce moments have the PCs always on edge, expecting the next fit to be just around the corner.
