No politics, please, just add your name to the list so that others might be convinced to add their name to the list of those who think it's important to voice their opinion.

#3 Cpt_Micha Nov 04, 2008 8:19:38	Voted on Friday. People get out there and Vote! You have zero right to complain about how things are if you do not vote. People have fought and died for this very important thing! To not vote, in my eyes is to spit on the grave of those that died for our freedom.
#4 zombie_babies Nov 04, 2008 8:21:04	Voted. I arrived at the location with my fiancee at about 6:30am. We were in a line that stretched out of the building for some time. After about an hour, I had cast my vote. There was some disturbing confusion exhibited by the volunteers, but I was able to help the voter myself. There was a sort of equipment issue with the scanner. The volunteer had no idea what to do to fix it. A much younger volunteer (and - it seems - the one in charge) told her how to fix the machine but she couldn't understand. The voter and I were able to correct the issue, but it is worrysome that people that have no clue as to how this all works past the papers are overseeing the whole deal. Hopefully there's no further "trouble". Oh well, at least it looks like us Ohio voters are getting out in some numbers - at least thus far.

#10 kistra Nov 04, 2008 12:40:37	I voted and didn't even get a sticker The wait was about an hour and 15 minutes for me. The poll workers were kind of giddy. They said normally they had 40ish voters by 9am and today they had close to 250 voters by 9am.

I used to do a hefty commute that wouldn't get me to the polls in time, but when I started working locally, I kept forgetting to remove myself from "absentee" status. Heard a good chuckle on the radio this morning. "The Daily Dave" was on the air encouraging everyone to vote, but he also noted that he has never been approached by an exit poller in all of his years of voting. He put on an indignant voice and announced "This year when I walk out after casting my vote I WANT TO BE POLLED ("poled")!" There was a pause as he realized the sexual innuendo. "That didn't sound right, did it?" You could hear his crew snickering in the background...
#12 jasonorlandohawk Nov 04, 2008 15:18:41	Sadly, I will not be able to vote this year due to a paper work error in my new county of residence... frustrating times, indeed, when you can't even place a call to the county clerk's office to try and get it straitened out. Still, to those who have the opportunity, brave the polls. I will call it a historic election if we get a voter turn out rating over 60%!

I haven't missed an election since I was able to vote seventeen years ago. I had it hammered into me by my father, a 22 year Navy man that unless I cast my lot, I don't deserve the freedoms of our nations and have no right to complain about the results. Perhaps one day we'll be considering your name for that big chair that Mr Obama and Mr McCain are vying for, eh? The polls are beginning to close and there aren't alot of posts here. I'm hoping that means you lot in North Carolina and Georgia just haven't added your name to the list yet. C'mon people, it's not like it takes all day to cast your ballot.

And no, I didn't take a sticker or get a cup of coffee. But I did talk to my 7 year old and had to explain to him that McCain isn't "lame" just not the right man for the job. My apologies for his mother's family's leanings.
