| #1jesse.two.coinsNov 23, 2010 12:13:09 | would you rather have android? or windows phone 7? I'm getting tired of my iphone 4. |
| #2EscherEnigmaNov 23, 2010 12:28:04 | I've chosen to have a phone. It doesn't get internet access. It doesn't have a day planner. It doesn't have a full keyboard or a funny touch screen. I can't download aps for it. What it does have is the ability to place and receive calls, voice mail, and if I push a button on the side I can see the time without flipping it open. |

| #4ADHadhNov 23, 2010 12:32:15 | I have a Nokia that I can use to phone people, get spam sms, play music and/or radio and browse web, if necessary (though not very efficiently). Had it for 3 years now and I was actually againts switching plans recently for fear of having to deal with a new phone ;) |

| #6EscefNov 23, 2010 12:40:21 | I got a Samsung Galaxy S (android) a few months back. I like it, though I do miss having a phone that easily fits in my hip pocket (I keep it in a small case on my belt). |

I actually dropped my normal cell phone and went with one of those pay-as-you-go phones, because I use it so little. It's cut $40 out of my phone bill every month! But if I were to get a smartphone, I'd get a Droid because, well, it's a Droid, and I loves me some Star Wars. ![]() |
| #9scypioNov 23, 2010 12:53:52 | I agree with EscherEnigma and KillerGM. Down with smartphones! |
| #10jesse.two.coinsNov 23, 2010 12:55:54 | ok guys ima get a droid for metro pcs lol smartphone with unlimited everything for $50 a month |
| #11oxybeNov 23, 2010 13:00:08 | man i'm even worse then the lot of you. i have a phone. it has 100$ pay as you go. my mom gave it to me for my 25th birthday because i refused to get one on my own power and she didn't know what to get me. the phone is like, 6 years old and used by more people then a lady of the night. theoretically it can text and go online, i just don't ever use the feature since i only have 100$ on it. it goes "deedle-deedle-deedle" or vibrates. it's a phone. |

Sorry, I'm thousands of miles away so you'll have to pat yourself on the back. |
| #13ADHadhNov 23, 2010 13:10:10 | man i'm even worse then the lot of you. I still have at home some phones that only show two lines of text and they still work. My younger brother used one from time to time when his newer one, ah, broke. ![]() |
| #14EscherEnigmaNov 23, 2010 13:20:28 | ok guys ima get a droid Wait... what's the point of asking for advice online when you don't even leave a large enough window open to get a suitably biased sample size? |
| #15zombie_babiesNov 23, 2010 13:52:42 | My mom has a Droid, my pal has a Droid2 and me an' the gal both have DroidXs. The consensus? Best phones we ever had by far. For the rest, it was their first smart phone, for me my second. The first was an HTC Touch Diamond runnin' Windows Mobile. I thought it was good until I got my Droid. All of the annoyances of the Windows OS are gone. I really do love the Android OS - it just plain works and allows you to do all sorts of neat-o crap. Oh, and the DroidX has an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording HD video, too. And an HDMI out. Not that I use that a lot, but some do. And it's far and away better than just about anything else out there. To sum up: Android OS ftw, Motorola makes some awesome phones, HTC makes pretty good Droid stuff, too (friends have HTCs and love 'em) and I'll never use another Windows Mobile phone ever. The Samsungs seem pretty sweet, too, but I have zero experience with them so I can't comment either way. |
| #16pluisjenNov 23, 2010 14:52:51 | I also have a phone that can call people and receive SMS. It is also prepaid and has a two-week battery life. And it cost 10$ when I bought it. It's perfect for me ![]() |
| #17october_darknessNov 23, 2010 17:18:03 | I get somewhat decent service with T-Mobile, and I use the HTC Touchpro 2.![]() |
| #18Mad_JackNov 24, 2010 0:50:26 | I'm going to contribute nothing to the coversation other than upping my post count, lol... I've got a $20 Trac-Phone with about 1500 minutes on it that costs me about $120 a year - I buy a 1-year card with like 400 free extra minutes on it every year so my minutes don't expire, and only ever use it for emergencies. I probably still have my entire call history since I bought the phone still listed on it under "recent calls", lol ![]() |

| #21oxybeNov 25, 2010 7:59:22 | if they still have it, my folks have all of you beat. they have have one of these: my dad outfitted it with a rotary phone inside so you opened the front, made your call and talked into the thing. it was pretty boss. dunno if they still have it though, that was several years ago when last i checked on it. |
