It really does hurt your brain, doesn't it?  Truly diabolical.  The girl is obviously an agent of Satan.

And she's an even worse singer, too. They're using so much autotune the Terminator should get a duet credit.

Quite true.  This is T Pain levels of auto tuneage.  I don't, however, feel like I'm on a boat when I listen to this girl 'sing'.  Maybe she oughtta pray for some talent ...

Why ZB? Why must you help the spread of horrible videos like these? You are like the rats and fleas that spread the plague. There is a special place in hell for you. it has this song contnuously playing on the loud speaker

Oh, if you're wondering.

I know the Original Song that this is a parody of.

And no it's not an official pop song. It was just a girl, that got a present from her parents on her birthday. She wanted to do a music video, just for kicks.

Appparently for two thousand dollars you can, make a pop song complete with video. There's a company in California specialising in it.

I wish I had gotten a two thousand dollar present from my parents.. *grumble grumble*

So no worries, Most Likely we aren't going to hear this or the parody (which the parody is Worse than the original quite comfortably) on the airwaves anytime soon.

Oh come on...  the absolute creepiest part of that video is the ghoul-like stop motion pencil sketch of her in the intro.  WTH is all that about?!  She looks like she's about to spew out Linda Blair.

I stopped before I could be convinced never to go to church again. Also, as soon as realized it was that stupid, stupid song again.

Heh, just what did you think I meant this couldn't get worse than?    I know Friday - this is just magically worse.  It's awesome because of that.  'Course I could only manage about a minute.

Oh, and as to why I brought this here, it's quite simple.  I ran into it somewhere, suffered and decided to share the hell.  I'm a good person that way.

Thank you! I am so glad somebody gets that! If more people took my posts in the dryly ironic manner in which they were intended a lot fewer people would erroneously accuse me of trolling.

One of, if not entirely, my favorite comedian.  Pure genius.

Well, you do have your moments.  But we all do.  I tend to post that way as well and yes, people don't always get it.  Such is the nature of the net.

That could work sometimes as well. What I'm not is the frothing troll some folks accuse me of being.

It's funny, over the years on these forums there's been a few people who started out thinking I am a huge troll and getting all bent out of shape over it but who have eventually sort of "clicked in" to my style and have actually become - I guess you could call it "fans" - who have gone on to defend me to others who take me the wrong way.

What I find odd is when I post something so incredibly over-the-top that I assume people will take it for the obvious joke it is but then people still go and get all upset about it. I know my style can come off the wrong way to some folks but I'd rather remain a misunderstood genius than kowtow to the ignorant and uptight.

I'd guess that it's a mix of the lack of facial expression and that there are some trolls out there that do post such off-the-wall things with apparent seriousness. People can't tell by your face and they're jaded by experiences with such trolls.

I've never thought you a troll, but I can see how some might think that initially.  We've disagreed (vehemently) at times and we've agreed other times.  You are abrupt enough that people may think you are targeting them.  But at the end of the day, it's all good and we can always talk to each other the next.

I hadn't actually seen the original Friday video until this thread, and I have to say...this is what all the fuss is about? I'm deeply disappointed. From all the talk about how horrible it was I was expecting something "O Holy Night" bad, but it's just generic pop with lyrics a bit dumber than usual and a mediocre singer. So what?

You don't care about the machines that are abused into adjusting the tone of the singer's audio output? That is a travesty of many Auto-tune songs. Otherwise it is just a gimmick.

It's worse because it isn't just some hack attempting to sing a known song and failing.  It's a girl that had her parents pay about $2k to create this thing through the use of a service that does exactly this.  The rapper in the middle (original version) actually wrote it.  The lyrics are also hilariously awful - she talks about going downstairs to eat cereal for Christ's sake!  Not to mention the nigh impossible decision she's called to make about which seat she'll choose to sit in - front or back.  Oh, and the constant drilling that Friday comes before Saturday but after Thursday and that Sunday comes after Saturday.  I mean, it's not a triumph of failure because someone sang badly - like the example you provided.  It's so much more than that.  This took no small amount of effort to create, you know.  It's got its own friggin' video!  Anyhoo, that's the 'what' you're lookin' for, IMO.

But, since it appears that you prefer bad covers (which is totall fine), I give you this.  Epic fail on a radio program (caution: they're known for potty mouth and it's a satellite show).  She's performing Ace Of Bass' seminal hit 'I Saw the Sign' in an attempt to win a Mac Book.  This was live on air.  The recording she sent in was far, far worse but I can't find a good version of it on the tube.  Anyhoo, I hope ya'all enjoy.

EDIT: The original cover is here about 2:45 in.  There's some laughing and talking over it, though.  Cuz it's a radio program.

But...if nobody cared about making a quality song in the first place, where's the fail? ARK certainly doesn't care, because they're being paid just to produce it in the first place. Success, failure, they get paid either way. The parents are more concerned with making their girl happy than producing quality music. Black herself and her friends are probably just excited to be in a music video at all, never mind the quality.

If nobody is trying to stop a tree from falling in the forest, why does it matter if it falls? If someone defends it and claims it's not a bad song, now that's fail. But in that case the fail lies with the defender for being an idiot, rather than the creators for not caring.

When someone's trying desperately to sing something well and failing horribly, that's hilarity. (On that topic, nice link. ;))

Meh, I see it as an attempt to make something good.  Considering the guy that wrote it (the rapper) came out and apologized about his awful lyrics - he thought pop songs should be simple but took it too far - after Ms Black got thoroughly trashed, I feel confident in that assessment, too.  Why apologize if quality was a non-consideration?  And why make a video that you'll post on the net that you know is awful (unless, of course, that was the point)?  Nah, they tried and failed.  But that could just be the way I see it.

I'm glad you liked the link.  After I listened to yours I couldn't help but remember it and had a feeling you'd enjoy it.
