Actually, this song only has four verses (or stanzas?) I just assumed it was implied I stopped when the text ran out. But one of the songs frequently sung at Danish birthdays actually does have a tendency to not end when it should, because people keep forgetting in which order the different parts go, so they end up singing many of them several times. And every time you think it's about to end, someone (drunk) starts singing another part, and you have to sing along to not make it any more embarrassing, which of course makes it more embarrassing :P (The tune can be heard here, btw, just click on 'Hør MP3'. Notice how it seems to end, only to start again, which makes some people forget when it's really supposed to stop).

Yes. Or more like a skrål-along ('strål' means to shout or sing really loud and off-key). And in regards to your other question, I believe 'Dane' is the correct English word. Danes use the word 'dansk' (about the nationality) and 'dansker' (about a person).

There's nothing childish about the PPGirls. The PPGirls are serious business.
The PPGirls were one of the only super hero cartoon shows that I was able to watch. To me the PPGirls are 100x better than superman, batman, the green lantern and several others combined.

Anyways ... as someone else said, women stop aging at a certain point, so that kind of nullifies any discrepancy on the birthday/holiday thing.

PPG vs JLU? Tough call, but I gotta give it to JLU. They have Batman, and Batman > everybody.
Batman is the one superhero with no superpowers but he can fight along side others, such as superman, with no problem. He isn't a superhero, he's a superhuman. He could probably beat superman in a fight, but that's probably because he's rich and resourceful enough to buy Kryptonite.
Batman is too a superhero (others like The Flash would be superhuman)! His intelligence and his wealth are his superpowers. It's one of the reasons I like him so much in JLA - he's one of the most powerful ones there, and he's just a "normal" (non-enhanced) guy. While his wealth is a significant factor in his being a superhero, his real "power" is his smarts. ;)
Maybe I just don't see cartoons and comics as worthy role-model material or something. *shrug*

LMAO. I didn't notice that. Though I do like how they portrayed him morally in the series - very much "I am right all the time, and never second-guess myself". The episode in which he tries to re-lobotomize Doomsday (which is what his "evil" self did in the Justice Lords) was one of my favorites - also because Batman goes off on Superman at the end too. Batman is always thinking about that kind of stuff, because he is all too human.

I liked that episode, too.
I thought that one brought up the morals of being a superhero well, and it had a lot more depth to it than a lot of episodes. And that's one of the reasons why I like Batman so much. When he is written well, he is the most human, but also the most strictly moral of all of the superheroes. He is only extreme when it is justified, but some of the other heroes are too far removed from humanity to be able to tell when something is too extreme. Batman is their conscience.

That is awesome. Someday I'll find a woman who appreciates that kind of present.
Superman isn't even a hero. I mean, sure, he has superhuman capabilities, but when has he faced a real chance of losing? He's no hero: heroes have faults, heroes overcome adversity, heroes are weak against more than space-rock. Superman is a paragon of humanity (without the human part), not a hero. His ONE flaw is apathy: he could end world hunger, he could end wars and genocides, but he doesn't. He is, in short, a coward, as he cannot be defeated and understands that.
I don't think he's a coward, but I have always said that while I find Superman boring, I would never want him tossed out completely as I think he serves a vital purpose - he is as Ragnar said, a paragon. He's an archetype for the "high end" of superheroes, both in power and lack of flaws. There's a reason everyone calls him "the boy scout" - he strives to do the right thing, even when that makes him less realistic, and even when the "right thing" doesn't mean the same thing at all to different people.
That's also why the arguments between him and Batman are so interesting. (As well as when he screws up, or does something that isn't "boy scout" at all.)
I really liked how he was portrayed in Kingdom Come - charismatic by his very nature, where you had young anti-heroes aweing at his very presence, and seriously considering turning over a new leaf just because he asks them to. Yet to his friends, he's almost tortured by how hard he works towards trying to get everyone to be "better people", how he's always looking for a better alternative.
Of course another thing is that any superhero is only as good as the writer behind them. Every comic has its high and low quality issues, so I try to take a certain hero a story at a time, or look at their general qualities instead of getting bogged down in Exception X of Issue/Episode Y.

This is why I just take the JLU cartoon series as canon - I don't read Superman comics. That series was awesome, though, and I thought it really brought out the characters of each of the superheroes. It totally made me love Wonder Woman more, and I really liked Hawkgirl. Batman's still my favorite, though, followed closely by The Flash (I think he's the groups moral conscious). ;)

I think I king of know why I don't like a lot of superhero stuff. I think some of it has to do with the art. Everyone is always perfect, for the most part, in every way. Everyone is a model. On top of that a lot of superheros are godlike in power. If I want to read about someone that is suppose to be perfect then I'll read the bible. Of course, some of it could be that all women seem to be drawn in bondage and almost every guy has pecs the size of a diesel. Of course the biggest part is that every superpower seems to break not only physics but also commonsense. This is something that has bothered me ever since I was a snot nose little rat. Not only did they break physical laws and commonsense but they, for the most part, have been completely stupid powers.

The Sandman collection is a great example of non-perfect comics - Neil Gaiman is a great storyteller. Books of Magic were also great. I've also been reading Fables (which is storybook characters taken refuge in the real world). I tend to stay away from the hyper-sexualized, hyper-muscled superhero comics.
It could also be that I don't think fantasy should be idolized and such. I always try and make sure my heroes and role models are real.
I am fine liking a superhero but there is nothing that turns me off to them quicker than a superhero comic fan. /
The way the draw the characters is typically not very attractive, because huge musclebound guys really aren't that attractive to me. There have been a few good pictures of Batman, but I usually find Nightwing to be more physically attractive. The physical appearance of the characters doesn't matter as much as personality, though. Nightwing has very little personality in the comics, so he's not that interesting beyond the surface. Batman has an awesome personality, so he is more attractive. And comics don't have to be about attraction, either.
Some of my favorite stories are the ones that focus more on some moral tale than on a specific character. New Frontier and Dark Knight Returns are some of my favorite comic book stories (even though they are opposite in almost every way :D) because they both look at society. New Frontier looks at the patriotism of the past, and, IMO, subtly demonstrates how we have lost a lot of that patriotism and laments it. DKR looks at moral decay of a society, and does a d*** good job of it.
