The guy who has DMd a couple of local dungeon delves on the Sunday following game day sent us a message stating that the one in June is the last one because Wizards was dropping the program. Was it unsuccessful? What goals were set for the program? Are there any delves planned for the future? My daughter and I had a blast at these delves because there was less pressure than the one on the Saturday game day. or maybe I have it wrong, is it that there will be no more game days? I think to keep the D&D community vibrant, it's good to bring new players into the game and what better way than with a cross-promotion that also benefits local retailers? Sure we can buy SOME books and SOME adventures at major chains like Barnes & Noble and Borders, but only local game stores stock dice, minis, and the knowledge to help people start their own campaigns. I'm sure that there's a lot more money to be made with collectible trading cards, but as an adult with a long history of playing D&D, I don't see how they can possibly compare with the communal activity of sitting down at a table and fleshing out your character before taking him on an adventure in shared storytelling.
