| #1awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 16:28:58 | God Almighty, creator of Earth, has disaffiliated himself with the Israeli people as his chosen people, effective at noon tomorrow. The reason, God says, is simply that the Israeli government consists of "too many idiots for [His] taste." He has already found new clients, none other than the people of the Faroe Islands, which he believes will very likely not cause much trouble in the next millenia. Further, they are "really religious and pretty low-maintenance - but in a good way." Despite his decision, God says he remains one of Woody Allen's biggest fans. |

| #7awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 16:51:16 | ...how can u post this with whats going on now? I live in israel...and...its not funny! On the contrary, it's friggin' hilarious. The OP that is, not the situation. |
| #8dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 16:54:01 | ...how can u post this with whats going on now? I live in israel...and...its not funny! How is Israel? Does it have beautiful country side and stuff? |
| #9midnitepoisonJan 14, 2009 16:58:16 | I wouldnt trade where I live for anywhere else in the world. just look up images on google, and you can see for yourself. and as for you, awesome_dude, if you reeeaaallly think its funny... well, you really dont know whats going on. I mean that, too. |
| #10awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 17:04:51 | if you reeeaaallly think its funny... well, you really dont know whats going on. I mean that, too. There's also the possibility that I make fun indiscriminately. Which is what I do. I experience intense joy when acting humorous. |
| #11midnitepoisonJan 14, 2009 17:06:18 | ....wow..... |
| #12dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:07:21 | ....wow..... You play WOW? ;) AD, just stop it. |

| #15dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:10:08 | Stop what? .............![]() |
| #16awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 17:11:29 |
Yes, stop what? Having a well-developed sense of humor? Being a non-hypocrite? Explain what it is you want me to stop doing. Exactly. |
| #17Crimson_ConcertoJan 14, 2009 17:12:05 | midnitepoison, I think you need to chill out. Nothing in that post was meant as offensive to anybody (except perhaps the Israeli government). You're being offended by it because you want to be offended by it. It's like jokes about the Holocaust or Katrina or dead babies. Also NB4lock EDIT: Just because I want to share... Why did Princess Diana cross the road? Show Because she wasn't wearing her seat belt. |
| #18awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 17:13:50 | midnitepoison, I think you need to chill out. Nothing in that post was meant as offensive to anybody (except perhaps the Israeli government). You're being offended by it because you want to be offended by it. See above. The mockery was directed towards obviously poor decisions on part of the Israeli government. Not the Israeli people, not God, not the people of the Farao Islands and not Woody Allen. |
| #19midnitepoisonJan 14, 2009 17:15:22 | ...sorry. its a sensitive topic. just yesterday... well...nevermind. ive just lost enough people i love to these stupid wars. i dont want this anymore. the lebanese war two years ago? that one was worse... |
| #20dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:19:19 | Isn't Israel a Democratic country? This would make it a government run by the people for the people. So, dissing on the Israel government is a dis on the people of Israel. |
| #21Crimson_ConcertoJan 14, 2009 17:24:17 | This would make it a government run by the people for the people. Only in a perfect world. |
| #22dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:26:19 | Only in a perfect world. But that still is the idea behind a democracy. Governing by the people. |
| #23Crimson_ConcertoJan 14, 2009 17:27:56 | But that still is the idea behind a democracy. Governing by the people. "Idea" does not equal "reality." Besides, to my knowledge, Israel isn't a democracy. It's a republic, just like the United States. |
| #24dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:29:13 | "Idea" does not equal "reality." A republic is still a form of democracy. |
| #25Crimson_ConcertoJan 14, 2009 17:33:48 | A republic is still a form of democracy. No, not quite. A republic can be democratic, in the same way that a guy can be girly. Democratic principles are in there, yeah, but it's not a democracy. |
| #26dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:36:23 | No, not quite. It is still run by the people (indirectly however). |
| #27fenrir7139Jan 14, 2009 17:39:41 | I thought the post was funny. Anyway, in the words of those before me... NB4LOCK! :D |
| #28Crimson_ConcertoJan 14, 2009 17:41:05 | It is still run by the people (indirectly however). That's the problem. It's indirect. That means the people don't actually have any more say once they elect somebody. I don't call that a democracy. I call that a democratic republic. The two are very different. I'm not saying either is necessarily better. I'm just saying that a democratic republic mostly absolves the people of responsibility for their elected officials' actions if said people disagree with said officials. |
| #29dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 17:43:59 | That's the problem. It's indirect. That means the people don't actually have any more say once they elect somebody. I don't call that a democracy. I call that a democratic republic. It is up to the people to elect who runs the country. The person is in for a term before they are either reelected or someone else is voted in. The people decide who runs the country, the people decide who is in the government, therefor the people are in essence what make up the government. |
| #30awesome_dudeJan 14, 2009 17:46:29 | therefor the people are in essence what make up the government. No. Hell no. |
| #31annoyinglizardvoiceJan 14, 2009 17:53:04 | That's the problem. It's indirect. That means the people don't actually have any more say once they elect somebody. I don't call that a democracy. Nice Diana joke earlier. |
| #32fenrir7139Jan 14, 2009 17:54:43 | No. Hell no. I have to agree with Awesome_Dude here; I mean, think about it. George W. Bush has had some of the lowest approval ratings in history, and even before that, for several years of his presidency, the majority of the American population disapproved of him. And yet, he was still in charge for eight years. Power to the people, indeed... |
| #33pigknightJan 14, 2009 20:09:13 | Since this is getting cereal... ...here's a dancing piggy: <(^o^)> (>^o^)> <(^o^<) (>^o^)> <(^o^)> (>^o^)> <(^o^)> (>^o^)> <(^o^)> <(^o^<) |

Bush has had some of the lowest approval ratings in history, and even before that, for several years of his presidency, the majority of the American population disapproved of him. And yet, he was still in charge for eight years. The reason he was able to do what he has was because the people voted for him in. Yes, I know it was actually the electoral college that decides this but the people decided the electoral college state by state. The people also voted in the idiot members of the legislative branch. It is the people that either replace them or vote them back in. The reason why members of government are able to screw things up is because we the people allow them to by voting them into power. |

| #37pigknightJan 14, 2009 20:20:53 | Wait...what?! |
| #38dirtyfrankJan 14, 2009 20:23:09 | Am I mixing you up with someone else, or did your location say Santa Monica just a couple days ago? It did. I also noticed the change STIX. |
| #39RUMPLESTIXJan 14, 2009 20:23:10 | I could be mistaken, but I think I looked at it when the kangaroo thread popped up... |
| #40pigknightJan 14, 2009 20:25:45 | Boars/Pigs > Pandas > Kangaroos |
| #41WebsterJan 14, 2009 20:26:10 | Sorry, we don't allow political/religious discussions. |
| #42RUMPLESTIXJan 14, 2009 20:27:56 | It did. I also noticed the change STIX. II feel we have been a victim of attempted deception. |
