Then friend is now homeless, and the kid has no mother. If she had worked for wall street and defrauded a bunch of investers out of millions of dollars, she would have gotten a slap on the wrist and a huge bonus.

I don't see the problem. Them kicking your grandparents out of their house and sending your parents to jail on the principle of it would be the problem.
#7 Mad_Jack Apr 23, 2011 23:46:50	Yeah, there's a lot of messed-up crap going on in CT...  (On a related note, Bridgeport is a pit. The city's declared bankruptcy at least once and several of the mayors over the years have been arrested... I'd want to pretend I lived somewhere else, too.)
#8 zombie_babies Apr 25, 2011 12:06:09	My friends were willing to take the risk in order to get their kids into better schools, too.  They had a plan in place and everything.  Eventually they decided to move in with one of their parents who lived in a better area.  It would have been a crowded ass house to be sure, but legal.  In the end, they were able to find a home in the area they wanted that they could actually afford after some clever maneuvering with their old home (turned it into gov't housing or something).  So it's all good now.  But yeah, it was important enough to them to consider going a route that may have landed them in some seriously hot water.

It's funny... if she'd just shot someone in the correct area and taken their home, she'd be out of jail sooner. That kind of thing makes me giggle... but it really sucks for the poor woman :/
