That one didn't quite grab me as much as the first one.

Of course Beat Street tops them all, in my opinion.

Did Ardilla_Homicidal put you up to this? He's still mad about my "you wear recycled tires" comment, isn't he?

True, but I was never really interested in reading about how to create him, so I can avoid the realms altogether. I was always more entertained by the discussions about three ridiculously insane things Pun-Pun could do, and seeing him matched up against other broken characters. The nerd-rage in those thread was exquisite.

Kobold but any reptilian race would have been fine. He doesn't need to be a Sarrukh, he just needs one of their racial powers.

Yeah, Dark Sun was pretty cool, I'll give you that. I thought 4e Dark Sun was pretty kool too, I liked that they tweaked the rules some to make it fit with the setting, Unfortuantly for the Realms, they tweaked the setting to fit the rules.

Which is why there's the older method that doesn't involve summoning Pazuzu. Which is also very nicely listed out in that very post.

You can do it at level 1 the risky way, or at level 7 the gauranteed safe for you way.

Yeah but its still not going to work, using Giant Size doen not increase any of your actual stats, it gives you a tempory bonus, therefore when you use the Manipulate Form or whatever, it would be based off of your actual stat not your tempory score, otherwise you could just cast Cat's Grace or whatever on your self to be elligible for some Prestige class or whatever.

It works because the ability is worded poorly.
And technically, using Cat's Grace to qualify for a feat works... But you can't use the feat when the spell expires.

Whatever, I certainly wouldnt allow it, and anyways, thats just one thing wrong with Pun-Pun, others include the fact that that kobold has never even seen a Sarrukh, so how would he Wildshape himself or his viper into one? The Kobold would have to take some levels in Chronomancer first to travel back in time to Toril's prehistoric past to even encounter a Sarrukh, and even then probably would not survive the encounter.

Ive read the rules and NOWHERE does it say that Ability Scores = Tempory Scores. If your tempory Strength score is 1,152, your ACTUAL Str score is still 4 or whatever.

What is it with you? You try to be insulting, then you add in the Pabst comment, its so hard to be mad at you when im laughing so hard.

But seriously, where does it say in the rules that a Temp ability score gives you access to feats, prestige classes, and the like, if you dont normally qualify? Cause I cant find it anywhere.

Trying to pick him up for a cheap pabst filled date maybe?

Silver: It's actually covered in the core book somewhere. I can't be rat arsed to find it right now, but they state pretty blatantly that temp scores can grant you prerequisites. They also say that once the temporary effect is over you don't qualify anymore. There's also similar rules about temporary alignment changes and it's affects on alignment based magic.

Though in Pun Pun's case this is irrelevant anyway since he can perma boost his stats, thanks to manipulate form, wild shaping, SLA acquisition etc. Which is also covered quite extensively in the level 7 build.

Temporary bonuses are still altering the ability score. I can't think of any exceptions to that. Gauntlets of Ogre Power give a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength. Say a character with a Strength of 11 puts some on. This puts his Strength score up to 13, qualifying him for Power Attack. But only when he has the Gauntlets on. Bull's Strength is also an enhancement bonus. It may be temporary, but it still modifies the ability. There is no distinction in the rules between your ability scores as inherent to you and your ability scores with external modifications.

Are we talking 3 or 3.5 rules here? I didnt think temporarily boosting your Abilities allowed you to take feats or whatever. But then again, do you know how long its been since ive ran a 3.x game? Of course i find myself explaing and/or looking up things for the guy who does run it.

*runs off to dig out 3.5 rule books*
