#2 grehnhewe Jul 16, 2011 10:42:10	I live  up in Santa Barbara and coming from someone who lives outside the Los Angeles area, I think they probably will finish the project on time.  If a lived down there however though, I would not plan on it just in case.  There really will be chaos if that interchange is not re-opened come Monday.  I imagine Cal-trans has planned this project down to the smallest minutae, and for the sake of all the Angelinos, I hope their division of Cal-trans is nothing like the one working on the freeways up here (at a snails pace).  Edit: From some of the reports I have seen today, the traffic seems to be ok as of now.  I guess enough people have decided to stay off some of the freeways this weekend.

It will be done close to on time.  Why?  Because the company doing it is going to be fined $6000 every 10 minutes that they are late.  Money loss works wonders for getting things done.

It will be done close to on time.  Why?  Because the company doing it is going to be fined $6000 every 10 minutes that they are late.  Money loss works wonders for getting things done. +1 If this clause wasn't in place, and I wasn't aware that it was, I could see the union construction workers dragging this out for at least another 12 hours.
