Apr 08, 2009 12:07:00 Okay so the biggest reason I made this thread was to push back a very silly thread made by the most obvious n00b attempt ever.

But a serious thought here: do you guys and gals think that OTT needs a competition? Most of the other community boards have one (Hero Craftsmen, Expert Dungeon Master), so do you think we should get one? If so, what would be the focus of our competition?

It's easier than it looks. Some want to build characters a certain way and so their posts can just be taken as suggestions. The game is more about luck than any one build being more powerful than another.

Give it a shot. If you don't like it, its okay, but at least you tried it, right?

Yeah, it's fun. I think it's gotten kind of huge, though, and that that discourages newcomers. Actively recruiting will probably negate that issue, though.

And I really like the "Sponsored by" tag idea. Friggin' hi-larious. And very, very OTT. ;)

EE wrote this. It's helped some people understand. Just know that there's no real need to RP at all. It's fun, though. :D It's hard to find an opening in the story, but if you join and then PM one of the more vocal posters on your side, I'm sure they'd help get you involved. Oh! You can always go to the Tiki Bar. Undead are preferred, but we don't discriminate. 3e or 4e, it doesn't matter. It's a pretty popular place now. I think. :D

Give it a shot. It looks bigger than it is. Lots of players don't player everyday so time isn't a concern. A new player with time on his hands is always welcomed.

Sides don't matter so much for RP - depending on where you're at. The Tiki Bar, while inside 4e's Palace, is actually edition (and species) neutral. I play for 4e but RP with 3e people almost exclusively.
