im kinda excited that the hype train that is kimbo slice got his arse handed to him by someone 30 pounds lighter 4 inches leess reach.

you cant be some punk arse fighter street brawler and expect to win against trained professionals.

i mean seriously the guy has been beating up homeless bums for half his life and putting it on you tube.

i hope this kills all his hype and we never hear from the blubbering idiot ever again.. then MMA can get some respect back.

The title of the thread indicate two people opposing one another. It give no information about who they are or in what context this occurred. Also, you couldn't make me sound like a "slap-nutz retard" if you were packing a multi-billion dollar NASA-designed nuclear-powered device created solely for the purpose.

Unless these people have replaced Obama and McCain as presidential nominees, found Bin Laden, ended the war in Iraq, solved the financial crisis, and set foot on Mars then I think you and I define "biggest news story of the day" quite differently.

Oct 06, 2008 9:29:02 They're EliteXC MMA fighters/nobodies. The fight was originally supposed to be Ken Shamrock against Kimbo, but he cut his eye and the commission wouldn't let him go. So, EliteXC - in desperation - asked his adoptive brother Frank Shamrock (an announcer (though he is a good fighter, too) for the card - which aired live on CBS Sat night) to fight Kimbo. The commission wouldn't let him go, either. Seth was then pulled from an untelevised undercard bout to keep Kimbo on TV. He annihilated the YouTube street fighter in 14 seconds with an admittedly non-flush punch. To properly answer your question, though, I will have to say that the question is it's own answer. Who indeed. ;)

Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano are also generally considered to be the only draws for EliteXC. With the YouTube sensation Slice getting beaten so badly by a no-name fighter, it's believed that EliteXC will now fold. They were the first MMA promotion to get a network TV deal but have been largely unable to bring in numbers without Slice and Carano. They've lost over $50 million in the past two years or so and were doing their level best to make themselves appear to be an attractive acquisition for Showtime in the hopes of saving themselves. With the destruction of their posterboy Slice, it's lookin' pretty grim now. I know it's not needed info, but I find it to be interesting. :D
