Don't get me wrong, I didn't have any high hopes for this movie. But I really like Paul Bettany, and the trailer looked at least somewhat interesting.

And I saw it tonight. For the most part it was pretty formulaic. Nothing really new happening. Acting was alright. Dialogue wasn't bad... until about the last 10 minutes, when it turns into cheddar-on-mozarella-on-gorgonzola.

I quote:

"Where are you going?"

"You're the protector now. You always have been"

"Will we ever see you again?"

"Have faith."

What did you all think?

Haven't seen it yet.  I'm waiting for it to hit the local $1 theatre (yes, I know it just came out.)

I have not seen it. I probably won't see it until it is out on DVD. So wait a few months for my review of it.

I've heard some people say that it's basically The Prophecy but without Walken.  Don't know how true that is, but what-evs.  Looked bad to me so I'll likely never see it.  No loss.

Then go see it because he's really good (no pun intended) and that's the problem Paul's charactor doesn't fall into the trap of being the "hippie" Angel that loves all thing and yet doesn't hesitate to butcher people when asked. The angels are like God's Robocops they do what they are told, when they're told to do it, and they DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS if God say "eat a baby on a stick" the angel says "yes sir they taste like chicken sir". The charactor's belief in the goodness of God ultimately leads to a dull ending there is no big epic battle oh there is a fight between Gabriel and Paul's charactor which is pretty cool but it's too short in my opinion and it doesn't end how you think it does either.

Not the Prophecy, It's more like Terminator 2: Judgement Day crossed with Tales From The Crypt's Demon Knight but not as good as either one.

That is untill that last battle, where the entire movie really goes to ****. It goes from being a fairly pointless but harmlessly entertaining supernatural action flick to being a batshit insane wall banger in all of 3 seconds.

(Angel who is only killing people cause god said too): What, how did you get your wings back, I killed you and you where disobeing god!

(Angel who was disobeying god): Oh, yeah, well, turns out I convinced god and he likes my way better. He dosn't want them to die afterall.

(Angel who is only killing people because god said too): Oh. Well, despite my ragging on you throught the entire movie for not following the commands of god, choosing instead to do what you think is right and somethign you deeply belive in, I am now going to choose not to do what god wants and continue to do what I now know beyond a shadow of a dobut he does not want done, even though I have no real wish to do it aside from the fact that god previously wanted it. Following new orders is for ****.
