Looking for D&D group online

May 27, 2009 0:07:24 Hi, I've only played a few games of D&D before, older editions then the current one, and I was hoping to get into the new version while it's still young. I'm kinda familiar, though I've played d20 Modern/Future far more then I have D&D, and I'm looking for some friendly help. I don't have a lot of options out where I live to find people to play with, so I decided to take my chances online and see if anyone would know a nice friendly place to play. And that they wouldn't mind having to explain things and take their time with a semi-n00b.

May 27, 2009 0:13:16 The PbP Haven is Play by Post games. It's forum #688 (see the last three numbers when in a forum? Change the last three to 688 then hit enter).

May 27, 2009 15:00:56 Do you prefer Chaotic (more commonly known as Free Form) or Structured (more commonly known as Rules Set) games? Are you interested in learning the rules side of the game, or just the basics and still having fun? If it is either, then pigknight's suggestion is a good place to start. There are other sites outside of WotC though, if you wish I can send you a PM with several links.

If my old Star Wars RPG was still up, I'd welcome you there too (even though it is not D&D) too see if you were interested. Alas, the birdie sank almost a year ago. It was a sad day, as the site had survived almost eight years of existence and constant retooling.

That is another factor to take into consideration; if you wish to get involved, make sure those you join can suffice and keep their activities up to date to ensure everything runs smoothly. Nothing worse then a GM who runs out of steam half way through, though it does happen occasionally.

May 27, 2009 18:27:07 I would love to play, i've only played about 15times and i love it,to play online is a okay forum/section called post by post haven. Its for playing online, though i got to admit its hard to get a game. I am very familar with 3.0 and 3.5 but im getting to know 4.0 . Send a reply back if you want to play pbp(post by post) with me.
