| #1NovacatMay 10, 2013 22:03:08 | If soliciting business on these boards is against the CoC, then please delete this thread. So I've got this campaign setting that I've been working on off and on for the last 20 years or so (since long before I had even heard of D&D). I've got a map that I made many years ago of the continent, but when I did it, my resources were limited, so I have a pretty low-res map, with only basic geographical notes (country names, basically). What I'd like, is a very high-resolution version of the map, which I could print out on a canvas or a wall scroll and hang in my living room. However, I don't have the skill to produce such an image, so I'm looking for someone who can. Someone who can produce a high-quality, highly detailed map of a continent roughly the size of Australia, including major terrain features, major towns, capitals, and other locations of note. You'll work based on my original image, and I'll give you rough drawings of what I want in terms of greater detail. After seeing some samples of your previous work, we can negotiate a price, which will be in exchange for a high-resolution image (as big as is feasible), and full copyright ownership. If it turns out well, I may have further such work available in the near future (at one point in the timeline, a new, larger continent is created/discovered). |

| #3draco1119May 10, 2013 22:20:34 | And if that doesn't float your boat, you can try the D&D Marketplace, found in the same part of the forums as the RPG Classifieds. |

| #9The_SilverswordMay 12, 2013 8:48:48 | Couldnt it be that Novacat is simply looking for a cartograpgher? |
| #10The_SilverswordMay 12, 2013 10:21:57 | On topic i will say that Campaign Cartographer is pretty nice, you can do some pretty amazing stuff with it, but its very complicated, not very user friendly, you need like a degree in CAD design or something to properly use it. Now, Fractal Mapper is pretty easy to use. Not too shabby eh?, If I can do it you can do it! |
| #11trappedsliderMay 12, 2013 10:23:46 |
but can you do it while drunk? ![]() |

I'm a fan of fractal mapper. I use it for my campaign maps and I turned out some really great stuff before I lost everything that was on that hard drive. On a side note, all that work with fractal mapper gave me a head start when I took a class dealing with GIS software. I was the only person in the room that didn't use that software as part of my job and yet I smoked all of them. Which is partly a testament to my own genius, but seriously it is really good software and pretty easy to use one you learn how the fractals work. |

Dude that is awesome!! So see you really can apply stuff you learn playing D&D to the "real" world, in your face mom!! |

And as part of the circle of life, my job then applied to my gaming when I later downloaded GIS software to my computer for an Ultramodern4 campaign that I'm running. |
