Aug 30, 2008 18:59:28 Can anyone out there identify the fonts used on the pages of the core books? I'd love to put their flair on powers, monsters and magic items that i've created myself.

Aug 30, 2008 19:33:14 They are not fonts that are avialable for free or commercially. You would need to buy them form WotC, or recreate them.

Like DnDAttack-Icons1, I would guess most others to be created at WotC.

I love those little icons that I feel like you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure I could recreate those in a font, but it was the specific fonts they're using for text that I am asking about. I highly highly doubt WotC would have typefaces crafted for the sole purposes of their book layouts.

Why? It's pretty common practice, and relatively easy to do. I personally doubt that they didn't create their own typefaces.

Aug 31, 2008 0:37:28 This has been discussed before. The typefaces WotC is using are customized versions of commercial fonts. So, yes, WotC did, in fact, go out of their way to create unique typefaces for their products.
