Chech the podcast.

Apart from the Comics being an advertising broshure for its toy line and the fact they 'advertise' the humanity of their toys in their comics...

At the end of the podcast you will find they won and got all their marvel figurines declared 'non human toys' as opposed to 'human like dolls'.

Also they have Barak Obama (appears in spiderman). Did he get declared a 'non human' or does he fall into the doll category given he is a 'real person'?

Is Marvel making a Barack Obama doll, pardon, "action figure"? If not, why bring this up?
(if they do, I want one)

Well, Tony Stark is a cyborg, the X-Men are **** Superior, not true **** Sapiens, and so on. There are actually not as many humans as you'd think.

There's Power Man (Luke Cage) and Captain America, but they're both products of Super Soldier Programs, as is the original Nick Fury. The only Marvel humans that spring to mind are Black Widow and Jim Rhodes, aka War Machine.
The damned blocker blocks Homo? As in, humanity, **** sapiens? Seriously? What next, w ill they block Moby ****? **** fighting? ****!

**** sapiens is offensive to Neanderthals.
And Guiness.  Now try to figure out this sentence: "Tricky **** Nixon was in the midst of th Watergate scandal when Alec Guiness was cast to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars.  Which had a **** fighting scene left on the cutting-room floor."

Can you imagine trying to read Tom Sawyer with the WotC filter in place?  I think I'd gouge out my eyes within the first hundred pages.

No idea about Rhodes, but I thought Black Widow had received unspecified "enhancements" to make her more kick-ass?

That said, yeah... pretty much all superheros are either not-quite-human to begin with, or are enhanced humans by cybernetics, drugs or magic.  You don't see many baseline humans in supehero comics.

Exception: the Bat-Clan.

Im suprised no one mentioned Frank Castle aka the Punisher, 100% human, no mutant or meta-human powers (unless you count that time he became undead, which i dont), just an averge joe, i think thats one of the reasons why hes one of my favs.

Also, Hawkeye and Hank Pym (Giant-Man/Ant-Man).  Pym's just got the tech know-how to augment his human brilliance.

Isn't the punisher currently a cyborg zombie?
And isn't Hawkeye undead?  I mean, he was dead for a while, and now he's better, so that counts as undead, right?

And yeah, Pym altered himself with drugs/"science".  So if we're not counting Banner, Rogers, the Fantastic Four,  or Danvers as human, I don't think he counts either.

"Nobody in comics stays dead except for Uncle Ben and Bucky Barnes."  Which isn't even true anymore, since Bucky is Winter Soldier (aka the dude who sniped Cap).

I didn't know about the drugs, I thought it was straight tech.  If it's tech, I was going to count him along with Batman.  What about Ravage from the 2099 line?  Was he human?

Eh, it was originally a potion or gas he would take (that is: drugs) whenever he wanted to use his powers, but after using them for so many years he altered his biochemistry so he doesn't need 'em anymore.

Seriously, Marvel comics are full of the message "drugs are good!"

Edit: Oh, apparently Pym has at some point further bio-engineered himself to get his dead ex-wife's powers (that is, the powers of the Wasp).

You forgot Gwen Stacy.
Being around Spider-Man is more dangerous than you'd think.

Hawkeye is normal, Black Panther is almost normal(Souped up on magic 'roids), Doctors Strange and Doom are normal, but use magic. I think Ilyana Rasputin(Colossus's sister) is also a magic user. There's also Amadeus Cho and, I think, Rick Jones.

If you're going to count magic-users as "normal", then you can't forget the Juggernaut.  His powers come from the Gem of Cyttorak embedded in his chest.

There's also Elektra, and (IIRC) Bullseye.  Silver Sable is human, too, IIRC.

And a mutant - she teleports by travelling through Limbo, which is where she picked up her magical training...

Bullseye is theoretically pure human, although his gift for hand-eye coordination and athletic ability are never really explained, nor is how he manages to have most of his skeleton replaced with adamantium without having a healing factor like every damn other character who's ever had it stuck in them...

Castle started out human and remained so for at least two decades after his first appearance.
It's been obliquely suggested in the Born miniseries that he may have made some sort of deal with a supernatural entity during the battle in 'Nam where he first became the Punisher, but it could also be read as him simply accessing some darker psychological element or part of his soul as well. It never specifically says.
Later on, Castle becomes an agent of higher powers with the ability to pull all sorts of weapons out of his trench coat, and still later becomes undead, but he's been completely human for most of his career.

Batman was mutated at some point so he no longer counts. Robin became Joker Jr. so he doesn't count. Remember, Joker had superpowers.

What about pre-immortal Nick Fury, and the rest of his Howling Commandos?

Like I tried to say in my first post in this threa, before it got mod-, the original Nick Fury is the result of a Super Soldier Program.  I'm not sure about the Samuel L. Jackson-based Ultimates version.

Isn't being Samuel L. Jackson a superpower?

But she left the Bat-Clan...

You never really leave the Bat-Clan.  Oh sure, you might get your own solo-series for a while, but then Detective Comics has a new cross-over event or reboot and you're pulled back in so Batman can become all dark and broody again after chasing off all his young wards.

Anyway, last I heard (a couple months ago) Barbara had her legs unexplicably fixed and she was running around as Bat Girl again.  They may have since explained and/or crippled her.  But seeing as she's pretty much always the on-call hacker and information specialist for the Bat-Clan, I don't think she's ever going to leave.

It's the ultimate superpower.
