| #3boraxeJan 26, 2010 8:39:34 | You just had to do it to me didn't you. Sorry Cap, I couldn't resist. ![]() I'm heading down to pick up a copy on my lunch hour, hoping to grab a Colelctor's Edition. I know they are sold out everywhere, but they said the same thing for DA:O but I manged to snag one of those so I'm still hoping. |
| #4Cpt_MichaJan 26, 2010 9:08:32 | hopefully this week or next week I'll have it myself. I live in a not exactly rpg loving area so I should be able to snag a copy. If not I will try amazon.com can you let us know how the Importing from your last game works? |
| #5lhockeeJan 26, 2010 9:54:56 | Well, if it's as boring and repetitive as the first one, I'll probably pass again. I'll wait 'till some other sucker owns it, play it off him, then decide whether to invest in a full purchase. The only thing ME did right was full PC VO, something BioWare idjiited up again with DA:O; hopefully ME2 will at least have the potential to include the VO present in the first game. |
| #6boraxeJan 26, 2010 13:24:21 | Woo hoo! Picked up a copy of the CE at lunch. Had to go to five shops to find it, but I got one eventually. Looking forward to cracking it open toni…damn, I'm working OT. Guess it'll have to wait till tomorrow. ![]() |
| #7idhrinielJan 26, 2010 15:04:57 | Woo hoo! Picked up a copy of the CE at lunch. Had to go to five shops to find it, but I got one eventually. Hey, with a little luck, that OT will pay for the game. Haha. At least you don't have a mom who works nights at an airport where she may not get home till 4AM. Yup. |
| #8zombie_babiesJan 27, 2010 12:18:37 | At least you have a mom. Some don't. It's never as bad as it seems, chica. ;) |
| #9lhockeeJan 27, 2010 12:49:58 | Bwuh!? |
| #10idhrinielJan 27, 2010 14:42:11 | ^Haha. True. Single dads must suck. |
| #11boraxeFeb 09, 2010 10:03:31 | I've been busy with real-life stuff so I've not played ME2 for a week or so, and on top of that I'm taking my time savouring the game, so it will likely be quite a while before I hit the Omega 4 relay and subsequent Suicide Mission. I've been hearing bits and pieces about the mission though, particularly the importance of squad role choices. So, without plot spoilers, what are your thoughts on it? Tech Specialist: Tali or Legion Fire Team Leader #1: Miranda, Jacob or Garrus Biotic Specialist: Jack or Samara/Morinth Fire Team Leader #2: Miranda, Jacob or Garrus Escort for Dr. Chakwas: Anyone. If you must include spoilers, please sblock them. Thanks. ![]() |
| #12boj0Feb 11, 2010 8:55:58 | Thats what GameFAQs has determined to be the best choice for each role, but even still, you'll have a 50/50 chance of Mordin dying...cause he's like that I guess |
| #13warcolonelFeb 11, 2010 10:12:15 | Actually, reguardless of who you choose, which upgrades (or all upgrades) you get, and how you play, you can still loose people. That being said, I've beaten the game twice, infiltrator and adept, and am now playing through as a soldier. |
| #14MechaliburFeb 13, 2010 14:05:33 | Show Mordin dying isn't a chance. It happens if you only have a bunch of squishies holding back the line. If you do the exact same thing twice, he'll die again. To avoid this, just have him escort the crew back. |
| #15boraxeFeb 19, 2010 9:44:48 | Did anyone catch the cute BG reference when Tali activates a drone? "Go for the optics, chichika, go for the optics!" :D |
| #16KlirshonFeb 19, 2010 9:51:07 | I caught that reference since I tend to have Tali use the combat drone as a distraction. Anyone heard Mordin sing his version of the Major General song? |
| #17boraxeFeb 19, 2010 11:03:41 | I caught that reference since I tend to have Tali use the combat drone as a distraction. Anyone heard Mordin sing his version of the Major General song? Just saw it last night. Not as funny as some of Garrus' one-liners, but it still made me laugh. ![]() |
| #18KlirshonFeb 19, 2010 20:40:55 | Perhaps, I thought the conversation/teasing between Garrus and Tali was amusing at the Citadel. |
| #19boraxeFeb 22, 2010 8:05:23 | So after savoring it for a month, visiting every planet in the verse, probing every nook and cranny the game had to offer, I finally finished ME2 on friday night. Wow. Just wow. What a game. This thing is so good it makes me want to get a job working on ME3. |
| #20KlirshonFeb 23, 2010 6:58:56 | I concur, though I did rather dread scanning planets for resources (usually takes me more then 10 minutes to find all the best resource spikes). |
| #21AwesomologistMay 17, 2010 11:21:26 | I know I'm reviving a dead Shepard thread here But I just beat ME2 this weekend and oh man does this game rock. Beat it as a Male, Infiltrator (level 50 import from ME1) and went mostly Paragon the whole way (with a few Renegade choices where it seemed appropriate). The ending actually looks like it will matter if you went Paragon or Renegade so I may have to have a second play through. Spoilerrific details A few key points that I'm sure will carry over into ME3: Tali: My romance option, partially because I don't trust Miranda and I've been with enough crazy chicks to know to stay the hell away from Jack. But mostly chose her because there's some character history from ME1 and she's actually a pretty well thought out character. Imagine that! Square/Enix could stand to learn a few things from Bioware. Anyways I got her off on the "treason" charges without needing to tell the Migrant Fleet about her father's experiments. I however did not tell the Quarians one way or the other about going to war. Kinda want to let them sort that out on their own. Besides I've killed enough geth at this point that I could probably retake their home world for them. Used Tali as my tech expert. Actually I used her in most missions because her Combat Drone is one of the best enemy distractions in the game. Legion: I hate that you get him so late in the game as he's just a really interesting character (the one piece of advice I got from a friend was to save the IFF quest for last). Love the fact that he "idolizes" Shepard. Anyways I blew up the geth base. Makes me wonder if I should go back and tell the Quarians to go to war since I did half their work for them. Mordin: Told him to keep the genophage cure research "just in case." Had him escort the crew back and he survived just fine. I never used him in combat except for his loyalty mission. Samara: Killed Morinth. The most useful biotic in the game in my opinion. Once I got her I never used Miranda or Jack again. Kasumi (DLC): Cool character and her loyalty quest is pretty interesting. I didn't use her much though. I think I had her keep the memories, but I don't think it really matters. Pity she's not a romance option. Also a shame that none of the other characters seemed to interact with her. Ending "teams": Tech specialist: Tali Biotic: Jack (I was using Samara nearly all the time now) Fire Team 1: Jacob Fire Team 2: Garrus Escort: Mordin I finished the game with everyone's loyalty complete and didn't lose a single member of the party or the Normandy crew. Chose to blow up the Collector Base. |
