#1 cloqwurk Oct 22, 2009 11:28:03	Well, today was a new day, full of surprises. I was sleeping over at my girlfriends, just minding my own business on the couch, when one of her cats (in this case, the younger of the two), decided that the right side of my face (including nose and lips), would make a most excellent scratch post and/or a point of insertion to climb higher up the couch. Now, normally I don't mind a few scratch marks, I'm used to animals having grown up on a farm the majority of my life, including early adult life. This was different. This was like being mauled. For whatever reason the cat/kitten misjudged it's flying leap and instead landed directly on my face, and in it's moment of miscalculation, decided my face would be the most profitable way to ensure a hold on climbing up the couch. I now have four very large, very painful (and they were!) looking claw marks etched into my face, two of which slashed right through my lips, and even took a nasty chuck out of the inside of my lower lip. I may need to get stitches, the cuts are so deep. All in all, a pleasant morning. If I do say so myself.

Have you ever needed stitches before?  It takes a pretty fair cut to require them to sew ya' back together.  I doubt a kitten would be capable of causing a wound of that nature without some time to work.  That said, cat scratches suck.
