#14 Cpt_Micha Dec 19, 2011 11:48:58	My Gijoes came with awesome rocket launchers (before the Nannies of America nerfed them by taking away their power), power armor, awesome plastic tanks, militarized space shuttles, giant mech robots (who also had amazingly good rocket launchers.... again before the soccermoms struck), awesome radio controlled recon vehicles, a truck that so obviously inspired Halo's Warthog I'm amazed hasbro didn't sue (which also had a great missile launcher). The Badger... my favorite of the vehicles... www.yojoe.com/vehicles/91/badger/badger_... Oh and hovercraft, personal submarines (that actually worked and could fire a hell of a projectile.... underwater and still have it go the distance... yeah the Soccermoms -really- hated that one) Then there was the dragonhawk, which is something else bungie ripped straight off of to the point there really should have been a lawsuit. (the Hornet in halo is pretty much the dragonhawk) then there was of course the sky striker generalsjoes.com/reviews/2011/renegades_... *drools* Taking clothes off a doll to change a uniform? Doesn't seem as cool to me.  Damn it all. Now I want to see if some of the stuff that I used to have is still around somewhere.

There were a large number of accessories (guns) and uniforms available for Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force. In the 70's, with Veitnam, they downplayed the connection to military realism, rebranding as a generic action adventurer, and then in 82 (post star wars) they relaunched with the 3.75" figures and near-future sci-fantasy paramilitary story. So oringinally you needed to be able to change the clothes if you wanted to play out the story of how Action Aquanaut came back to land with sunken treasure only to be drafted into the Marines and sent to die on the beaches of Da Nang.

Your original post made no mention of a reason why you would want to change G.I. Joe's clothes. In fact, it was Draco who brought it up. I asked him. He mentioned that G.I. Joe was an anatomically incorrect male. Not much of a reason to want to take Joe's clothing off. It's alright. I forgive you. You're old. Your brain isn't what it used to be.

Bought at 20 $ in 1980 and sold at 120 $ in 2011 - if you forget storage and transaction costs - gives ya an average yearly return of 5.95 % ... or 2,56 % real growth in value. As a comparison, the DJIA grew an average of 8.93 % y-o-y in the same period.  Seeing as it's kind of difficult to tell which collections, brands and pieces are likely to become vanity collection items, the return seems pretty poor.
