| #1Johnathan_VagabondOct 13, 2009 9:10:00 | I can't stop. Large fountain drinks, chicken mcnuggets, large fries, over and over the vicious cycle of getting the common pieces repeatedly, drowning me in grease and tiny squares with printed depictions of the beloved boardgame bits. I know, I know they only print a certain number of "winning" pieces, but... it's like the lottery only you actually get fried processed chicken pieces first! AAAGGHHHHH! |
| #2tylara67Oct 13, 2009 9:17:09 | Didn't they have a huge scandal the last time they did Monopoly where the guy in charge of the winning pieces hid them all away and gave them to friends and distant family? |
| #3zombie_babiesOct 13, 2009 9:28:25 | Umm. You can play without buying the food. That's what 'no purchase necessary' means. Hell, you can even play online or some crap. Back in the day when I was a burger jockey, we used to look for winners during slow time. We found food an' crap, but never anything good. Point is, employees look at a ton of those. Even if they aren't allowed to win, they know someone who is. |
| #4inucanisOct 13, 2009 11:31:02 | Hope that you win! You'll need it too wash out all the grease you've been wolfing down. :P |
| #5_jayne_cobb_Oct 13, 2009 11:36:42 | They'd have to give me the million bucks up-front to get me to eat that garbage. |
| #6MechaliburOct 13, 2009 17:22:28 | I haven't eaten in McDonald's since I was 7... but I didn't know that anyone actually cared about these games. |
| #7LordManshoonOct 13, 2009 17:26:56 |
Indeed there was. And the beauty of it is, McDonalds later sued the guy.... and lost, even though he had, in fact, rigged the contest. So they got slapped in the face twice. |
| #8death_isthe_beginingOct 13, 2009 17:33:06 | Thrice because they had to pay lwayers too. |
| #9RPJesusOct 13, 2009 17:36:21 |
But why would you want to? Then you have a million dollars and a large order of fries :D. |
| #10october_darknessOct 13, 2009 19:35:37 |
They have corporate lawyers on their payroll regardless of whether they will sue someone, or not. |
| #11zombie_babiesOct 14, 2009 13:33:51 |
Cuz the fries are terrible? |
| #12Fox_ReeveheartOct 14, 2009 14:36:59 | I almost never ever have mc'd's anymore (though i am still enthralled with their sausage&egg mcmuffins and sausage&egg mcgriddles... omg heaven) but I and everyone else in the family usually see an influx of buying the stuff when monopoly time rolls around =p |
| #13ADHadhOct 14, 2009 14:45:35 |
Seconded, burgers and nuggets are fine, but their fries are awful. The bad thing is that their alternative is salad, which is even worse. |
| #14zombie_babiesOct 14, 2009 15:02:44 | ^^ You nailed it. |
| #15_jayne_cobb_Oct 14, 2009 15:57:43 | ^^ You nailed it. Well, except for the "burgers and nuggets are fine" part. |
| #16zombie_babiesOct 14, 2009 16:00:24 | Hmm. What if I amended 'fine' to 'passable when you're famished'? Is that cool? |
| #17RPJesusOct 14, 2009 16:02:30 | Pfft, you're all crazy, that stuff is delicious. And who wants to be 90 anyway :D? |
| #18zombie_babiesOct 14, 2009 16:05:44 |
People that are over 100 years old? 'Oh, to be young again.' 90's the new 50, you know. |
| #19EscherEnigmaOct 14, 2009 18:34:12 | 50 is when I take up sky diving. 60 street racting 70 is motorbikies 80 is Mt. Everest so by the time I hit 90 I should be ready for recreational bomb juggling. |
| #20death_isthe_beginingOct 14, 2009 21:23:17 |
I have never done this before so here go's nothing. +1 |
| #21KillerGMOct 14, 2009 21:35:11 | McDonald's is evil. I mean, I eat there even though I know it's bad for me and isn't very good taste-wise either (though, TBH, I like McDonald's for their fries, rather than despite them). But it's two minutes from my house, and it's too damn easy! My son knows McDonald's, and asks for "french fries". He also knows "chicken nuggets" and "cheeseburger", but he learned them apart from McDonald's. *sigh* |
| #22Demetri_KnighthawkOct 15, 2009 5:03:06 | are we allowed to mention which pieces we have in order to find other people who have the rest and theirfor split the money? or is that accomplace to gambeling? |
| #23pluisjenOct 15, 2009 5:38:56 | Meh. If you're going to do fastfood, at least go to the Burger King. At least there the food doesn't taste like the packaging it came in commence flaming? Anyway I prefer making my own food over that rubbish and I actually prefer making money over winning it (but that's probably just me) |
| #24Johnathan_VagabondOct 15, 2009 8:12:07 |
Problem is is that if you actually have any of the rare pieces, then you've pretty much won already. Two trips for a Medium Drink, 20pc Chicken McNuggets, and a Large fry later you'll have won. That's part of their evil frikkin plan. |
| #25archyneirOct 15, 2009 13:11:34 | Taco Bell for the win! |
| #26october_darknessOct 15, 2009 13:23:29 | I find that eating at real restaurants, or making food at home is the best way to go. |
| #27archyneirOct 15, 2009 13:25:22 | Oh. So, like, Wendy's? |
| #28Ragnar_LodbrokOct 15, 2009 17:59:53 | Ugh. McDonald's gives me a killer stomach ache. |
| #29RPJesusOct 15, 2009 18:02:14 |
No. We do not encourage them until they restore the ever-weakening seal keeping their mascot from breaking it's mystic restraints and devouring the very fabric of reality. |
| #30death_isthe_beginingOct 16, 2009 0:22:31 |
Correction you don't, I most certainly do. Then again I'm not what most people would call sane, and I like it that way. |
| #31KlirshonOct 16, 2009 8:49:34 | This is a thread about McDonald's and not once had a post refered to a royale with cheese until this one? What is this world coming to? I never really cared for fast-food contests/games. Just give me what I ordered and I am fine enough. Can't even do that some of the time... Not much of a McDonald's consumer myself. I tend to like Penn Station and Arby's more. |
