| #4grehnheweAug 08, 2013 19:32:40 | Bulls can run upstairs right? |
| #5homicidal_squirrelAug 08, 2013 19:33:37 | Maybe, but I doubt they would go up 47 flights. |
| #6grehnheweAug 08, 2013 19:36:57 | Maybe, but I doubt they would go up 47 flights. yeah, then definitely opt for one of the upper floors if you want to meet some fit chicks. Have you been able to start running again HS? |
| #7homicidal_squirrelAug 08, 2013 19:58:28 | Yeah, I started running again. I also started biking. Now I'm splitting my training between sprints, once a week, and biking twice a week, sometimes three times a week. I have a comfort bike, a |

So many people spend thousand of dollars on something when they are just getting into a sport. I kind of want an Amsterdam bike for cruising around town. www.electrabike.com/Bikes/amsterdam-roya... |

| www.electrabike.com/Bikes/amsterdam-roya...homicidal_squirrelAug 08, 2013 21:03:26 | Glad you are running again. I like that bike, it would also be a great commuter bike. Yeah, the bike I have now is pretty good. I spent maybe $350 on it. Unfortunately my job requires that I drive around going to people's homes and checking up on my therapists and how they are doing with the clients. It would be great if they all lived near each other, but they don't, so I have to drive. Also, Miami is pretty dangerous for bike riders. We have a monthly Critical Mass bike ride and lately drivers have been getting a bit angry with the bike riders. My friends ex-boyfriend got knocked off his bike by a car ablout two months ago while participating in Critical Mass. I can't say that I totally blame the drivers. The bike riders can sometimes be jerks. Also, city and county officials don't seem to be too interested in helping make it any safer. Maybe as it gets bigger, city and county officials will be more interested. Fortunately I have a decent neighborhood to ride in. If I get bored of that, which sometimes happens, I can take my bike to one of several parks around here that have bike trails. So many people spend thousand of dollars on something when they are just getting into a sport. Yeah, I don't know why people do that. I mean, I could have splurged and bought a decent road bike, and spent about as much as it would cost to buy a small Japanese car. I just don't see the need for it. My bike is pretty comfortable. It's not the fastest, but it's a fun ride. It's good enough for what I want for now. Later on I'll get a hybrid. If I ever get really serious and start putting some serious miles on my bike, I may just put out for a road bike. I kind of want an Amsterdam bike for cruising around town. Looks like a pretty sweet ride. Should be fun. |

That's a recumbent bike. They're pretty nice. |
| #13jetshieldAug 08, 2013 21:19:02 | They're super-comfortable, but that particular one is waaaayyyyy out of my price range. That's a $3000 trike. I paid less than that for my car. ![]() |
| #14homicidal_squirrelAug 08, 2013 21:30:39 | Yeah, recumbent bikes, and road bikes, tend to be pricey. When I went to buy my bike, I saw a nice looking road bike. It was a Trek, if I remember correctly. I looked at it, and thought, that would be a nice bike. Then I saw the $5,999.00 price tag. |
| #15jetshieldAug 08, 2013 22:45:27 | Who pays $6000 for a bike? Other than people that get paid big money to ride them, that is. |
| #16homicidal_squirrelAug 08, 2013 23:07:59 | Who pays $6000 for a bike? Other than people that get paid big money to ride them, that is. Actually, people that get paid big money get bikes from their sponsors. They usually don't pay for them. A while back there was a story about some guy who found a bike on the road. It turned out to be a bike that belonged to one of the guys that won the Tour De France, and it had fallen off a car when they were transporting it. The guy that lost the bike didn't care that the other guy had found it, and let him keep it. It was worth somewhere around $15K if I remember correctly. I think he got popped for PEDS afterwards. No, it wasn't Armstrong. I think it was one of his teammates. |
| #17zombie_babiesAug 09, 2013 9:08:01 | My bike was like $400 or $450 - can't remember. It's a Trek cuz Treks pwn and it even has disc brakes! |
| #18homicidal_squirrelAug 09, 2013 10:20:46 | My bike was like $400 or $450 - can't remember. It's a Trek cuz Treks pwn and it even has disc brakes! Yup, Trek are good bikes. Especially for the price. You get good components and a good frame. Just make sure you get fitted for the bike properly. Most of all, avoid buying bikes at Wal-Mart, Toys-R-Us, Sports Authority, or any of those generic storesthat have a bike section. They are usually terrible bikes with cheap components, and weigh about as much as a car. The people that work at those stores generally have no knowledge about bikes beside "you peddle and it moves." |
