Microsoft Surface Meets DnD Game Table?

Jun 16, 2008 12:34:57 So for those who have seen the new Microsoft Surface computer: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/index.html

I was talking with MindShadow2k, and he had mentioned the idea.

Imagine the possibilities of using this for a DND Gameboard. Draging with your fingers where your characters move, touching your target to attack.. Having your charsheets on the surface, being able to flip them over.

DM could use hand suggestions to control what's going on. Dice roll on surface...

Would be very cool.

Jun 16, 2008 22:34:51 That wouldn't even be close. with the DnD tools only one person controls laptop if you're all together and online is a different story. Did you watch videos? All of your sitting at a single table, yet using touch screen table. The possibilities and interaction are way more exciting.

Jun 17, 2008 12:53:57 Yeah, it should be great... for the ones that doesn't bother to expend like 3000 usd for play, plus the development of the tool, Since it is quite obvious that WotC or a open source initiative wouldn't develop such app for a device so little used by rpg public for rpg events.
