Just thought I'd mention that I will be doing a signing in conjunction with the GenCon D&D Experience events on Friday from 1 PM to 2 PM in Narbondel (Room 138). Anyone that's interested getting their D&D books or artwork autographed should swing on by and say hello.
Limited edition prints, such as the new map of Menzoberranzan, board artwork for Lords of Waterdeep, and a wide variety of art and cartography from 4E will also be available for purchase during the signing or at my booth in Artist's Alley.

Maybe he does, but I have never heard of him.
And he is violating the CoC by posting D&D related stuff in the OTT.
So he should have to follow the same rules the rest of us have to.

No anxiety. OTTers have been beaten with the rulebook enough that they're going to point out to a newcomer when he/she breaks the rules. It's also a matter of some amusement that D&D discussions are forbidden on a D&D board.

While I would never claim to speak for hoodsey, I doubt most strongly that your OP offended him. He was polite in his response to it, simply informing you of the rules here.
I wasn't aware that the off-topic tavern had such strict rules.
That's not terribly surprising for someone with 14 posts in 4 years. However, the rules are clearly stated in the stickies at the top of the forum.

No one here has even begun trolling you. Whatever you may think, not having heard of someone who believes they are a celebrity does not constitute trolling. On a side-note, calling someone a troll (whether it's true of not) is itself a violation of the CoC and can result in account suspension.
By the way, you might want to Google someone before you crap all over them.
Why would anyone bother to Google every random person who wanders onto a forum for the purpose of shameless self-promotion? That kind of behavior turns off forumites all over the internet. In many places it can result in bans, it's so frowned-upon. Also, if you think you've been "crap[****] all over", you need to re-evaluate your importance to the world. My advise to you would be to never try to go mainstream with your art. Stick with doing illustrations for WotC products. I doubt you'd be able to handle any negative revues from art critics, if you get all worked up because a few people on a forum don't know who you are.
Seriously man, I'm more famous on the internet than you, courtesy of my pvp prowess in several mmo titles. People know me to the point, that they emulate my builds and strategies. My time not in pvp anymore is generally spent fielding questions and build advice.

While yes we are abit trollish, that's only when we try. We are Good OTTers at the moment.
I'm sure you are quite good at your job, as D&D maps are rather pretty as of late. But I probably wouldn't know your work if I saw it, from another artist. Don't knock it, it's better than it sounds. There were only a couple of artists that did anything D&D that I recognize, one of which being Todd Lockwood.

I totally agree that I should have read the COC and followed it more closely before posting here. The only reason I posted it into this forum was that I couldn't see what other forum it would apply to.

I am rarely serious, and I've found that, as a general rule, people who come to a forum solely to promote themselves are unworthy of my respect. Now, I'm not saying you are unworthy of respect, but you'd have to stick around a while to earn it.
Did this guy do 3.5e art 'cus I don't do much in the way of 4e. The only 4e stuff I've worked with is the Empire in the War.
Mostly 4e I think, I mostly know of him from the 4e Neverwinter book.
He also did alot of great stuff for the Backdrop articles for the Forgotten Realms.
But any way you should try out more 4e its great! Everyone gets powers! Not just wizards!! Yay!
