#1 farmer42_dup Jun 07, 2008 22:52:02	Alright, so I live in that small pocket of SE Wisconsin that the tornadoes missed tonight. As a result of the bad weather, though i was more or less homebound after WWDnDGD, so I did what any sensible gamer would do. I busted out the reaper mini I told a friend I'd paint for him. So I glued it up, primed it, then painted and based it. And here is where the sadness comes in. i painted the best mini of my life. This thing is absolutely gorgeous. My wasses and highlights turned out perfectly, the details pop, and it looks alive. And now I have to give my masterpiece up. Would I change it? No. Am I still going to give it to him? Yes. But, darn, I'm sad to see this thing go. Has this ever happened to anyone else (the mini thing, not the storm thing)?
#2 omnusi Jun 08, 2008 0:50:12	Yeah, it did. Despite the huge pile of unpainted minis I have, I one time found myself at a mini painting get-together at my friend's house with no minis of my own. So I grabbed some of his orc archers and started painting them. I'm no professional or anything, but they looked pretty good. But they weren't mine, so I had to let them go. This story has a happy ending, though. My friend, because of family issues has all but dropped off the gaming radar, but he sold me most of his books and left his minis at my house, including the coveted squad of orc archers! So sayeth Omnus.
#3 solarflare Jun 08, 2008 12:32:08	Buy another miniature equal to that of your friend, paint it and give it to him, while keeping the masterpiece for you... If you paint another masterpiece, repeat the process until you must sell your family to slavers to buy new minis...
