So this is a 21+ (if you're in the USA) and whatever-age-applies+ (depending on where you are outside of the USA) thread.

But here's a question... what mixers and liquors go best in a milkshake?

So far what me and the SO have tried:
  • Chocolate and Kahlua: 1 cup of vanilla ice cream, 2 shots of Kahlua, chocolate syrup to taste, milk to desired thickness (we've found about a shot of milk for every two shots of liquor works well).  Though the tastiness of this one might be on account of the SO drowning it in chocolate syrup.  He's got a bit of a sweet tooth.

  • Vanilla and Coconut: 1 cup of vanilla ice cream, 2 shots coconut rum, milk to desired thickness.

Those seemed to work pretty well, but I'm curious about what other good and tastey combinations people have had.  I'd experiment more 'cept me and the SO aren't heavy drinkers1 and don't have a big variety of liquor 'round the house2, and I never think to grab a bottle of something new while I'm at the store.

Anyway, anyone else have tasty tipsy milkshakes?
________
1It takes me a long time to get through a fifth of anything.  Remember that bottle of vodka I mentioned buying a few months back?  It's maybe a third gone.
2I think we have three bottles at the moment?  The vodka, a bottle of coconut rum, and a bottle of Kahlua.  Pretty sure that's it.

It's a variation of one you posted, but you may wish to check out Godiva's chocolate (white and dark) liqueurs.  If you are a chocolate fan they are yummy, and they mix well with milk.  Replace the Kahlua (coffee based, if I recall) for a smoother, more chocolatey deliciousness.

Well, I've occasionally dumped bottled strawberry daquiri mix into milkshakes, so I guess it might taste pretty good with the booze added as well...

I had a friend who used to make milkshakes with Baileys Irish Cream.  I can't drink because of my epilepsy meds, so I don't know how it tasted.

I can think of few things less enticing when wishing to drink than a milkshake.

Am I the only one who read the title and thought the thread was about blenders?

Tequila Rose, I imagine, would be really good.  It's already pretty creamy, and comes in fun flavors like strawberry, chocolate, and coffee (though I don't like coffee, myself).
