| #2pluisjenJun 12, 2011 7:57:19 | Because you can't have a good day without someone being violently murdered and wearing the colors of the "other team" ![]() |
| #3EscefJun 12, 2011 7:59:21 | Because you can't have a good day without someone being violently murdered and wearing the colors of the "other team" Terrorists are like rabid animals. Any time one gets put down it makes everyone more safe. |
| #4pluisjenJun 12, 2011 8:06:50 | I know. The safety is good, it's just the "YES WE KILLED ANOTHER BEING" that makes me a bit unhappy. I'm pretty sure that's how R_H is feeling right now. Then again maybe I'm just reading too much into it. I did notice that the article failed to spell "Osama bin Laden" right. Good news source. |
| #5EscefJun 12, 2011 8:11:38 | I did notice that the article failed to spell "Osama bin Laden" right. "Usama" is a perfectly valid variant. In fact, for years the US military shorthanded it to "UBL". When transliterating a name from Arabic to English there are several acceptable ways to do it. |
| #6pluisjenJun 12, 2011 8:16:25 | Really? How.. annoying. You'd expect, especially for such a big name, for people to agree on a single spelling :/ I've never seen anything other then "Osama" used here, other then by people who claimed that "Usama" was wrong. |
| #7Robin_HoodlumJun 12, 2011 8:19:27 | Because you can't have a good day without someone being violently murdered and wearing the colors of the "other team" First, you socialist appeaser, he wasn't "murdered". And second, I have a good day everyday, but when I hear news like this, it makes my day better! |
| #8pluisjenJun 12, 2011 8:21:49 | And second, I have a good day everyday, but when I hear news like this, it makes my day better! I bet you do, if there's one thing there's plenty of, it's violence. |
| #9pluisjenJun 12, 2011 8:53:38 | Really? How.. annoying. You'd expect, especially for such a big name, for people to agree on a single spelling :/ Don't you mean "ask Americans"? I'm pretty sure the British have been around a lot longer, and came up with their words first. There's a reason you speak English, instead of the Brits speaking American. ![]() 'sides, those are not names, they're words. And in this case, words in different languages, kinda. I mean, everyone knows it's not "colour" or "color", it's "kleur". |
| #10draco1119Jun 12, 2011 8:56:02 | Really? How.. annoying. You'd expect, especially for such a big name, for people to agree on a single spelling :/ You must be one of those mythological Belgeraniums. ![]() |
| #11jetshieldJun 12, 2011 11:05:48 | Really? How.. annoying. You'd expect, especially for such a big name, for people to agree on a single spelling :/ Speaking of big names in the news that no one can agree on how to spell... link and link-that-includes-a-link-to-the-first-link-that-I'm-making-hyphenated-just-for-giggles. | #12jesse.two.coinsJun 12, 2011 11:11:23 | Socialism is bad. plu is bad (at trolling). And if what escef says holds true, I'de still rather be lied to than have my country go to hell because of an incompetant socialist progressive leader. |
| #13EscefJun 12, 2011 11:31:33 |
Hey, go ahead and jump if your feelin' froggy. |
| #14jesse.two.coinsJun 12, 2011 11:54:14 | alright escef, fair warning lol you don't want it bro |
| #15bone_nagaJun 12, 2011 12:29:27 | There's nothing wrong in taking comfort that the world is now a better place. If it came at the cost of someone's life, well it was his own decisions that led him to that fate; I'm not going to waste any time feeling sorry for him. |
| #16jesse.two.coinsJun 12, 2011 12:55:12 | There's nothing wrong in taking comfort that the world is now a better place. If it came at the cost of someone's life, well it was his own decisions that led him to that fate; I'm not going to waste any time feeling sorry for him. well said! |
| #17draco1119Jun 12, 2011 13:18:02 | To summarize the American right and left, the Right is selfish and deceptive, the Left is well-meaning and incompetent. "If the the Left were merely incompetent, the law of averages suggests that they would have done something that didn't go against American interests." - Joe McCarthy I'm sorry, but anyone who can actually listen to (let alone say!) "We have to pass this bill in order to find out what's in it" with a straight face is beyond incompetent. Also, "Progressive" is good; "progressive" is bad. TR led the Progressive Party. Democrats now try to claim they're progressive. |
| #18EscefJun 12, 2011 13:48:19 | To summarize the American right and left, the Right is selfish and deceptive, the Left is well-meaning and incompetent. When McCarthy calls you incompetent, there's a problem. Seriously, the guy worked a lot of people into a panic over... nothing? The man made a lot of boasts and claims, and backed none of it up. |
| #19EscherEnigmaJun 12, 2011 14:32:04 | When McCarthy calls you incompetent, there's a problem. Seriously, the guy worked a lot of people into a panic over... nothing? The man made a lot of boasts and claims, and backed none of it up. And that, friends, is the power of a Charisma score. That said, I'm reminded of more modern examples of people that do very similar things. |
| #20draco1119Jun 12, 2011 14:52:32 | To summarize the American right and left, the Right is selfish and deceptive, the Left is well-meaning and incompetent. He wasn't calling the Left incompetent, he was saying that they were actively working against American interests. Ever heard of the Venona Project ? Turned out "Tailgunner Joe" was actually right... Too bad the declassification of documents came 40 years too late to save his reputation. @EE: Sadly, so am I. Obama, Pelosi, Palin, Trump... The list goes on and on. And on. |
| #21EscefJun 12, 2011 15:10:42 | Ever heard of the Venona Project ? Yes, I have. McCarthy was still full of crap. Even having a couple of solid leads means nothing if your methods destroy any support for your endevour. And still, he was far from spot on. |
| #22QubeJun 12, 2011 15:35:56 | what does suspect mean? In a 'U.S. Africa Embassy Bombing Suspect Killed in Somalia' (title) and 'The Al Qaeda operative behind the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings' (first line in article) and 'innocent until proven guily' context ? other then that? lets see... RH being happy that some guy died. plu being called socialist. yeah... I think I have a deja vu. did someone call me a liberal yet? |
