So The Jobs finally admits the non-problem is a problem and then, in the same breath, uses the classic playground 'but they do it, too!' defense.  Somewhere, on some plane of existence, JohnnieCochran is smiling.  To The Jobs' point, I must say 'LIES!'.  I have an HTC Touch Diamond (yeah, yeah - my update is comin' dammit!) that I frequently cradle in my entire hand when I'm viewing youtube, making calls while using speaker phone, surfing the web, writing and sending texts, etc and I have never (as in, not once) lost a call or connectivity.  Never.  My mother has a Motorola Droid (and you simply have to hold that monstrosity in your whole hand - maybe even both hands ) and has experienced no trouble.  My brother and his wife both have a Blackberry something or other and have had no trouble of this nature.  None.  So, uhh, Steve-o - what's the deal?  Motorola, HTC and RIM products IME don't have a Death Grip issue.  Maybe that's why they're calling you out on your testing, eh?  Well, that also would be something they'd do even if you were right.  If only there was some impartial source to verify this with ...

Oops!  How could I forget?  Consumer Reports has flat out said that they cannot recommend the iPhone 4.  Can't and won't do it.  Have they said that about any HTC, Motorola, RIM or Samsung smart phone?  Hmm ...

Droid. That's all I gotta say. The Droid is a beast. And it has free apps.

I've heard news that Apple will be giving away rubber cases for the iPhone 4, but my source was in Polish, so I won't link here.
I don't think that was mentioned in the article I've read, but I wouldn't be surprised if that meant you get the rubber only if you're from the US.
Also, I was neutral about Apple up to this point, but now I genuinely dislike it.

Per the linked article, those that complain of the 'non-design flaw' are eligible to receive a free 'bumper' case.  So they did at least do that.  And, since it seems to really help with the issue, I can't fault 'em for that.  I can, however, fault them for the moronic way that they handled the whole mess.  And so I do.

This situation has reminded me of a spoof "cartoon" about a sales representative trying to sell an HTC Evo to a customer who's adamantly demanding an iPhone4. It is not safe for work thus I can not supply a link here.
