I've only played it once, and that only with the starter set.  It was quite amusing, but I bet it's great with a whole load of sets and the right people to play with.

However, I can also imagine that it gets old quick, and would be best played only every now-and-again.

If you get all the expansions and play a four man group it goes on for about 4 hours. I didn't complain it kept the gaming store I was at open for 2 more hoursLaughing.

Munchkin can be fun enough, but it can drag a bit towards the end.  I think I prefer Settlers of Catan or, if you have the time, Illuminati, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, or Arkham Horror.

Oh, definitely. Munchkin vanilla, Munchkin-Fu, Munchkin-Cthulhu...I'm certainly a fan. Feather-fu FTW! For some reason I tend to be a magnet for gender-changing curses...

Betrayal is one of the very few board games I like.  It pwns.

Arkham Horror is nothing short of awesome but requires a lot of free time so we very rarely play it.

Nice thing about Betrayal is that it starts off co-op and then goes strange, so my SO can't really get mad at me if I end up killing him in a suitably grisly fashion.

Yeah, it's cool like that.  I also like the fact that you build the board as you explore.  Neat fog-of-game feel.

Too bad all my friends are up in 'Burque.  That'd be a good game to play this Halloween.

I only ever got to play it like 3 times (all in the same evening).  I should just buy the bastard.

It sounds like a very interesting game. BTW, has anyone played Top Secret Spies?

Yeah.  It's about 100 miles north of where I live.  Not that far, really, but I doubt I'll go up this weekend.

Munchkin kicks ass, as do every game listed here so far in this thread.  However, the thing that sucks the most about Betrayal is that it is like $150 and out of print.  =(

Yeah, only about an hour and a half drive.

Board games: I love Betrayal at House on the Hill, Axis & Allies and Arkham Horror. Also Space Hulk, but that is just about as far as I'll be venturing into Warhammer.

In card games, Lunch Money and Pimp: The Backhanding are my favorites. I also play Legend of the Five Rings a little bit.

Yeah, that's kind of the reason I don't have a copy.

Lunch Money kicks serious ass.  And pokes serious eye.

We usually play Munchkin on the nights someone can't make the regular D&D game.  Recently, we've been doing Mix-n-Match Genres with a combination of two of the smaller sets.  For example:

C'thulhu + Good and Bad = Deadlands Munchkin

C'thulhu + Booty = Pirates of the Carribean Munchkin

Star + Good and Bad = Firefly Munchkin (except it's actually fun, unlike the show ...)

Good and Bad + Fu = Shanghai Noon Munchkin

BLASPHEMY!

OK, I kid. But of all the live-action shows I saw in America, that was the only one I really liked.

Yes, Munchkin is indeed awesome, and there are a wide variety of Munchkin sets to choose from.

If you like Munchkin, you may also want to give Munchkin Quest a try.  It's a bit slower paced than Munchkin due to being a board game, but it's still loads of fun.

Excellent game, I've found quite a few hours of enjoyment out of that little treasure. I'd recommend it to anyone.
