I have been on these Boards for more than a few years now, and I've seen lots of user names come and go. These days, there are a few posters that really make the Boards a more pleasant experience for me. Between their posting style, their rules knowledge, and the play style I can glean from their posts, here is my Dream Team for a D&D4e campaign:

Shiftkitty: Balanced views, creative ideas extraordinaire.
TheBouncyPherret: Level-headed love for the game.
Alane: Rules god, without coming off as a rules lawyer.
FitzNighteyes: Solid, direct, but non-confrontational defender of views.
Hocus-Smokus: Always willing to add a positive, even to negative threads.

There you have it. I would love to be a player under or DM for any of these five Members of our Boards community. Now if I can just get them to all move to the Triangle area of North Carolina...
........
Dagnabbit! I knew I would end up wishing the game were made for ten people instead of five! I've already been reminded of another five people that I would have also placed in the top five!

(More seriously, I generally try to be a net positive to the community, and even if I don't make your short list, I hope I'm somewhere in the top 20)

Don't feel bad man. Lots of people have been around for a long time and didn't make his list. Those are people he's most familar with and has respect for nothing wrong with that. Doesn't mean he doesn't respect the rest of us(or most of us).

lol...point taken but outside of that I have seen him make some pretty good points in other areas...

I would rather sit in on willhm75's games and see his "good" DM in action, since you are a bad one unless you are doing it how he likes it.

Much agreed. I do not think that anyone here could debate that what so ever.

VisanidethDM: My dream team is only the top five. I did not list a "sub-in at the first opportunity" bench. Nor did I include the "sub-when needed" remainder of the roster. Had I listed a top 20, you would have been in there!

The_HATED: This may surprise you then. I had considered it. But my Dream Team is for a 4e game, and I would not subject you to that. I would, however, love to sit in with you on a 3e game.

yrogerg: You are not only in my top 20, but in my top 10. See the "sub-in at the first opportunity" comment above!

i_can_see_forever: I would sit in with you on that Greg_T game in a heartbeat!

nowiwantmydmg: Comments like yours are what make me wish the game were designed for a party of more than 5, which is what guided my choice in number of names!

OnceUponATime: Of the posters that I have had disagreements with on these Boards, I find myself respecting your differing opinion more than any other.

NthDegree256: I don't know why I don't recognize your name more easily. I think it is because you neither create nor enter into controversy with any frequency. I'll blame it on my age and the brain-injury motorcycle accident I had in 1995.

willhm75: (He didn't comment, but was mentioned.) I concur. Having him be my DM would be great! Although Shiftkitty is still my current first round draft pick Dream DM.

I'm not going to go back to the original post and include the bench and the roster, only because I *know* I would forget some folks that I would definitely want on the team.

There's too many people here who seem to be any of or combination of:

C) Intelligent
D) Reasonable
E) Fun/Social

for me to list any 5.
I could probably pick 40 or 50, but for me that list would be damn near impossible to narrow down.

Yeah... I haven't thought about a dream team...

But I have thought about some I would like to put to sleep:D

I don't think i could pick one dream team form these boards without leaving somebody out.. but near the top of the list would have to be Batshido (even though he isn't round too often anymore), Leichenreiter, Rustmonster, Hockus Smokus, Steely Dan, Captain Micha, Jim the Grey and probably about 100 other people that seem like they would be awesome to game with. to name them all would turn this post into a wall of text.. so i might just leave it there.

On the plus-side, however, I'm currently running 3 games in the Play-by-Post forums (in my sig). Since the Game Table looks to be vaporware for the near future, I invite everyone over to the PbP forums to join in a game. It's the last refuge on these boards where all editions (hell, all RPGs for that matter) can exist side-by-side in harmony. No edition-wars, no flaming, no baiting, no trolling...just gaming. About this:

Now if I can just get them to all move to the Triangle area of North Carolina...

Now, if by triangle area you are referring to being near Chapel Hill, the home of the Tarheels, you couldn't get me to want to go there to stay at gunpoint. :P Of course, with Calipari at UK, I might be willing to hang out in that area to rub it in when the 'Cats beat the 'Heels this year. Will that be in Rupp? /rant by rabid UK fan in the Tidewater area of Virginia.

Not only "near" but, if you look at the Location line, "in". Although I am a transplant Big11Ten man myself. I couldn't care less whether UK or UNC win the next time around, as long as a Big11Ten team makes it to the Final Four in the process.

So if you are in the area, look me up for a game.

Personally I'd want to sit in on one of Greg_T's games to see what he considers a properly run campaign versus the published modules which he so effectively critiques.

The_HATED: This may surprise you then. I had considered it. But my Dream Team is for a 4e game, and I would not subject you to that. I would, however, love to sit in with you on a 3e game.

I would totally play that 3e game.
OnceUponATime: Of the posters that I have had disagreements with on these Boards, I find myself respecting your differing opinion more than any other.

Lol...awwww... ...I feel all warm and squishy inside now...;) ...thanks, I take that as a compliment...

I've been around longer than most, but I'm pretty forgettable. Maybe I'd make someone's dream team if I lurked less!

...Then again, maybe not. I am kind of a jerkwad. :D

Am I the only one who (occassionally) wonders if I have DnDed with some of you guys and gals before? Sometimes I just wanna ask: "Hey Jeff, that you?" ;)

No, I wonder that, too.

The Southern part :D.

"Barren Earth" was the name of a comic book I used to read as a kid. Think it was a back-up for Warlord by DC.

Aww, Seeker. Break my heart, why don't ya. You would have been on my Top 5. *sniff* Fine. Be that way.

I concur. Come, Nova, let us start our own game. Now, we just need 4 others... ideas?

Oh, I see how it is. I go to Iraq and you just completely forget about me, Seek. Well, you know what? As soon as I make a Christmas card list I'm putting you on it, just so I can take you off!

I know it was two days ago, but OMG I got name dropped! That has never happened before! I'm touched... *Sniff*

Maybe if I had any clue how virtual P&P games ran, I'd try getting into a group online with some forumites. I often wonder "What are these people I yell at all day like when you play with them?"

Out of sight, out of mind.

Are you now back from Iraq and I can add you back onto my Ayyam-i-Ha list? Or is this a temporary return and I should hold off until after we complete our withdrawal?

(Either way, it is good to see you again!)

Not only "near" but, if you look at the Location line, "in". Although I am a transplant Big11Ten man myself. I couldn't care less whether UK or UNC win the next time around, as long as a Big11Ten team makes it to the Final Four in the process.

So if you are in the area, look me up for a game.

I still have net access out here. I remain in the sandbox for another month, then I have 2 weeks mid-deployment leave, then I come back to the sandbox til sometime in November.

I just don't post much anymore because I'm sick to death of edition wars.
