| #1october_darknessJul 07, 2009 19:38:39 | ![]() ![]() She's buying me these shirts from offworlddesign.com :D She's not even a gamer, and yet she likes these. |
| #2dirtyfrankJul 07, 2009 19:47:14 | Are you converting her into one? |
| #3Ragnar_LodbrokJul 07, 2009 19:47:45 | Nice shirts |
| #4owls_and_more_owlsJul 07, 2009 19:48:13 | Haha... good, good. Give in to the Nerd Side. |
| #5KillerGMJul 07, 2009 19:48:16 | LMAO. Nice! My husband got me this shirt for Mother's Day ... ![]() It says "the cake is a lie" along the outside, and then at the very end, in the front on the bottom "but our love is not". He also got me a Companion Cube for Valentine's Day. It's good to get nerd presents! :D |
| #6owls_and_more_owlsJul 07, 2009 19:56:45 | I wish I had a girlfriend to give nerdy things too... TT^TT |
| #7EscherEnigmaJul 07, 2009 19:56:58 | ... KGM, I might need to get that shirt for my SO this X-Mas. |
| #8october_darknessJul 07, 2009 19:57:30 | It says "the cake is a lie" along the outside, and then at the very end, in the front on the bottom "but our love is not". That's really sweet. Once I see her tomorrow, I'm gonna try to take her out to Transformers 2, and a dinner after that. I haven't been this serious in a relationship for what seems like forever. Are you converting her into one? I had her come on here to check out the products, and she was reading some of the stuff. She says it's too confuzzling for her. I'll leave it at that. Gaming to me is the same like going out with the guys, and drinking some beers. I like to have my alone time every now, and then. |
| #9dirtyfrankJul 07, 2009 20:01:12 | I had her come on here to check out the products, and she was reading some of the stuff. She says it's too confuzzling for her. I'll leave it at that. Gaming to me is the same like going out with the guys, and drinking some beers. I like to have my alone time every now, and then. With some of my friends "going out with the guys" means hanging out with female friends and not the guys. But that might just be because of some of the people I hang out with. |
| #10KillerGMJul 07, 2009 20:26:14 | ... KGM, I might need to get that shirt for my SO this X-Mas. It's from www.sharkrobot.com I sleep with my Companion Cube (it's plush and 6" x 6" x 6"). He left like 3 days after Valentine's Day, so it was even more appropriate - he gave me a companion while he was gone. ![]() ... man, I miss him ... |
| #11october_darknessJul 07, 2009 20:45:43 | It's from www.sharkrobot.com Is he in the military? If so, how many tours has he done? |
| #12KillerGMJul 07, 2009 20:50:04 | Yes, he's in the army. This is his second deployment. |
| #13owls_and_more_owlsJul 07, 2009 21:07:42 | When's he getting back, do you think? |
| #14KillerGMJul 07, 2009 21:35:48 | Army deploys for a year, so coming spring. That's about as specific as it gets, though, as it's always a rough estimate. Which sucks. Big time. |
| #151_ton_ghostJul 08, 2009 14:15:18 | Nice of her to indulge your inner geek like that. Good girl, there. I've seen those at the OffWorld booth @ Gencon '06 & '08 IIRC. Got the zombie/recycling one, "Reduce, Reuse, Reanimate...Necromancy: Helping combat the funeral industrial complex" or something to that effect. $.05's worth of free advice: take her to see another movie for your date. Did the dinner & a movie thing on the 4th (rain & fireworks don't mix) @ Clauddaugh and saw "Up", not a bad night out. "Public Enemies" looks promising (never saw a bad Johnny Depp film yet [save "Cry Baby"]). Can't miss. |
| #16KillerGMJul 08, 2009 16:46:38 | Thanks - I do appreciate the sentiment, but I have to say it takes all kinds. Some people function better at it, but I don't want to seem like I think I'm better than anyone else because of it. ![]() I'm better than everyone else for a whole slew of other reasons. ;) |
| #17owls_and_more_owlsJul 08, 2009 16:48:52 | Is it your laser cannon? I bet that would give you an edge. *pew pew* take that, lesser equipped army-wives! |
| #18KillerGMJul 08, 2009 16:52:49 | My lethal weapon's my MIND!! :P |
| #19dirtyfrankJul 08, 2009 16:55:20 | They've started giving military wives psionic powers? That's so cool.![]() |
| #20KillerGMJul 08, 2009 17:00:48 | Nah, I had them before my husband joined. Most of them are sans powers. |
| #21zombie_babiesJul 09, 2009 9:26:10 | Nah, I had them before my husband joined. Most of them are sans powers. So ... uhh ... whatever are these sans powers and how does one get some? |
| #22KillerGMJul 09, 2009 15:19:30 | [translate]sans = without[/translate] |
| #23dirtyfrankJul 09, 2009 15:22:51 | Why? Shouldn't the military support military families by giving military wives psionics? Someone needs to hold down the fort and hold it down good. |
| #24KillerGMJul 09, 2009 15:31:50 | ![]() I'd rather not be a member of a military psionic force, thank you. ;) *tries really hard not to gripe about how the Army has "supported" the wives up here* |
| #25zombie_babiesJul 09, 2009 15:59:38 | [translate]sans = without[/translate] I know that ya goose. Hell, I've even used the term on occasion here at these very boards myself. It was just to good to pass up. Or too bad. Whatever. It was too something. And who can resist something so too? Certainly not I. I am sans self control when it comes down to too. :P |
| #26KillerGMJul 09, 2009 16:02:11 | I'm sorry, did you miss the many posts in which I play the "straight man" to smart-alec comments? :P |
| #27toastedamphibianJul 09, 2009 16:03:19 | *tries really hard not to gripe about how the Army has "supported" the wives up here* That sounds alot like an accusation of rampant infidielity between army wives and non-deployed troops in Alaska, KGM. (Supid Euphimisims, or however you spell that ****.) @ ZB: Dosn't San miss you when your busy posting? |
| #28zombie_babiesJul 09, 2009 16:04:39 | I'm sorry, did you miss the many posts in which I play the "straight man" to smart-alec comments? :P Hmm. Maybe you were too straight. :P |
| #29dirtyfrankJul 09, 2009 16:05:08 | Um. I had no clue what it meant and looking it up didn't help me out either. |
| #30KillerGMJul 09, 2009 16:05:29 | That sounds alot like an accusation of rampant infidielity between army wives and non-deployed troops in Alaska, KGM. (Supid Euphimisims, or however you spell that ****.) ... wow, you read that differently from how I intended. I was alluding to the lack of support from the military for the wives, which is something I really need to not get into. But I was in no way referring to infidelity on anyone's part. |
| #31KillerGMJul 09, 2009 16:07:08 | Hmm. Maybe you were too straight. :P I guess so. :P |
| #32zombie_babiesJul 09, 2009 16:10:31 | I guess so. :P ![]() |
| #33EscherEnigmaJul 09, 2009 16:24:55 | I'm sorry, did you miss the many posts in which I play the "straight man" to smart-alec comments? :P *ahem* |
| #34KillerGMJul 09, 2009 16:30:45 | ... not you too!! *sigh* I said "play the 'straight man'", which means I pretend to be one, like when I play a dragonborn Wizard or tiefling Warlock. :P |
| #35EscherEnigmaJul 09, 2009 16:33:20 | ... So you pretend to be a man on the internet? |
| #36toastedamphibianJul 09, 2009 16:34:32 | She also pretends to be a straightman in alaska as well. You new here? [And a Jedi to boot.] |
| #37KillerGMJul 09, 2009 16:38:04 | When the mood suits me. ;) |
| #38toastedamphibianJul 09, 2009 16:42:16 | I don't think the mood likes me. It tends to try to pants me more often than it suits me. |
| #39stealthmarmotJul 09, 2009 17:16:23 | I wish I had a girlfriend that gave me nerdy t shirts. Then again I wish I had a girlfriend. Wah. |
