I'll post my rants that I copy-pasted from my MySpace blog.

Twilight Rant:

Girls Gone Wild (For Twilight)
Why do girls act like Twilight is the best thing since sliced bread? Seriously, it's just Morman Abstinance porn!

And don't even get me started on Edward "Poisonous Vampire" "McDreamy". The dude left the chick when he though he got her preggers. Learn2Dad or keep it in your pants.

Vampires. In Twilight they're poisonous....and don't get immolated in the sun...wow, just wow! Everyone knows vampires get caught in an overly dramatic conflagration if they go outside during the day. Seriously, anf I heard they don't even have fangs. They better be undead at least (they probably aren't).

Christ on a bicycle. Read a real book, like World War Z or The Lord of the Ring.

There's just no helping it when people get obsessed over something. I thought the books were amusing, but they weren't the best thing I've ever read and I didn't particularly like any of them after the first one.

I'll copy my responses.

Yeah..see the thing is is that woman doesn't know crap about REAL vampires (like Count Strahd Von Zarovich) she just made pretty boys with "super powers" and "that pretty glitter skin"

Honestly, vampires are ravenous, unholy abominations that only care about FEEDING ON THE LIVING.

And she's sending the wrong messages. Make love to corpses (I'm going to be an idiot and assume that her vamps are undead) which is just effing creepy, and if you aren't in an abusive relationship, it's not true love.

I personally liked the Bela Lugosi interpretation of vampires: they are somewhat sexual, but still very dangerous. The vampire mythos was believed to have come about from women having illicit affairs and then saying that a dark stranger entered their bad chamber at night and seduced them. If that is true, there is supposed to be some level of sexuality involved, but Twilight does make vampires ridiculously perfect and nice.

I think that the vampire's sexual organs would just be there, but no longer produce. Thus, no sex drive. Just my two coppers on the subject.

I can live with the fact that not every vampire is a ravenous monster, even though that's how I like them (I'm still not forgiving Anne Rice). I'm not concerned that the Twilight vampires aren't vampires.
I can live with the terrible writing, because really, Stephenie Meyer is not a talented writer. She's certainly better than me, but it's still teen fiction quality, and not even top run teen fiction (I'm looking at you John Green).
My biggest problem with the books are that they aren't about a young girl being a strong protagonist. They're about a young girl being completely beholden to a sparkly vampire dude. She's window dressing for a story about the real main character- Sparkle McFangy.

That rant is pathetic. Here's a real rant about vampires without mentioning Twilight.
I have always hated vampires. Not only as an idea, but also as a monster. Since there's been some time since I wrote a blog. A long blog. Incredibly long. I don't actually expect people to read through the whole thing, but they might get a chuckle or two out of it (irrational hatred is funny when people are rationalizing it).

Vampires in movies are painted like these strong tough guys who can kill you with their bare hands. Fine, except for the fact that they either come in giant hordes that are as easily dispatched as Stormtroopers, or singularly, in which case, they smack the good guy around for about a minute or two before the good guy finds a way to exploit their weaknesses, revealing that they did, in fact, pose no threat to the good guy in the first place (seeing as they didn't actually try to kill him).

Then we come to their perceived sexual nature. "Ah mah gawd, tehy is soo secksy!!1!!1cos(0)" is what you usually hear. Of course, people disregard the fact that they're ****ing dead. Dead means:

1) Cold
2) Stiff

Add the fact that they feed on blood and are just creepy in general, then we basically have sex with a cold and tight ***** who can only stare at your neck and eventually bites it. You may like it, but no thanks, I like my ***** alive and not thirsty for my blood.

What's more, every depiction of vampiric sex I've seen involves slow, deep sensual breathing, despite the fact that they don't breathe. At all. Even if they did breathe, why can't you just grunt like the rest of us, you stupid glorified zombies?

As for partying all night, yeah, but what about the day? Oh, that's right, they die if they're up during the day. I can party all night if I want to, and then continue throughout the day with the ashes of those ****ers swirling around me. The fact that they're dead also means that they have no metabolism and therefore can't get any effect out of either drugs or alcohol, meaning that their parties are probably as dead and cold as their pussies (unless you consider your local YMCA gatherings good parties).

The closest thing I've seen to an awesome vampire were the vampires in John Carpenter's Vampires. Those things buried themselves in the ground during the day and killed everything in sight during the night. ****ers were ugly as hell, too. They were hunters, gluttons, addicts and sociopaths, all rolled into one. What we now have are Eurotrash goths whose bloodlust is just a dietary quirk and nothing more.

You know, all of that wouldn't bother me so much if it weren't for the thing we call Vampire Culture. Vampires are supposedly lithe, seductive, hypnotic creatures of the night who revel in pleasure, seeking and live wild and erotic unlives. In Reality they are clumsy, fat, socially inept, sartorially blinded ****-ups that are so pathetic that even the goths won't hang out with them anymore. They probably all have herpes too, except for the virgins.

See also:
IMAGE(http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff226/urgagurga/Shevamp.jpg)
Yeah, those boobs are actually the entirety of her body fat squeezed towards the camera to give the illusion og big boobs (or bigger than they already are).

"Real" vampires usually start out as complete social failures that have totally missed out on the no-ego stereotypes, like heavy metal fandom and reading comic books and wallow in self-pity looking for someone to accept them.

They lack too much confidence and are too wrapped up in teenage pseudo-nihilism to seriously consider religion, so they gravitate toward other emotional crutches that can promise them uniqueness and a purpose in life. Vampirism promises these outcasts a reason for never quite fitting in. And unlike the otherkin, the mythical creatures they're psychotically pretending to be are human-shaped and sexy.

There follows a minimum of five years of flouncing around in ridiculous clothing, buying stupid pewter accessories and filling their bedrooms with white lace and imitation silver candelabras. Many "vampires" change their names to things like "Raven Darkemoon, " "Matthius BlackThorne, " and "Lord Noctem Aeternus" because vampires are not allowed to be called Sarah and Bobby. Typical hobbies include writing crappy poetry about crimson roses and wolves, listening to dreadful music, hanging around in graveyards, eating chips and crying. Eventually they either kill themselves or grow out of it.

Let's look at some of the names these "people" want to call themselves and what they mean to us "mortals":
-Vampire (douchebag)
-Vampyre (pretentious douchebag)
-Whampyyre (****)
-Sire (one who has converted someone to vampirism, because using twelfth-century terminology and spelling makes everything real)
-Vampire Council (goth equivalents of David Koresh, but with herpes)
-Vampire Elder (one who has reached the age of thirty-five and still not grown out of it)

And the different types of "vampires":
-Sanguine vampires - Drink blood. Call themselves "Sanguine" because it sounds French and therefore is more likely to attract Lestat, WHO IS A REAL PERSON AND NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY FICTIONAL.
-Psychic vampires - Believe they suck mental energies out of people. This has the advantage of allowing them to participate in a ****-up culture without the associated risks of infection, or doing something really gross. Also allows them to dodge unpleasant questions like "So how come I can still see your reflection in a mirror?" or "We're driving over a bridge. I thought you vampires couldn't cross running water?"
-Aura vampires - Like psychic vampires but even more full of ********.

What really kills the deal is that when those retards are asked, they go on about how we only know the "Hollywood" vampires and not the "real" ones (i.e. the ones the individual makes up and contradicts what another one defines). These people pretend to be one of the (supposedly) most violent and sociopathic fiends out there, yet won't even lift a finger to defend themselves. Pathetic.

And do you know who is to blame for this? Anne Rice. It shouldn't be a surprise. She is the ultimate drama queen and is only rich and famous because of happenstance. She is also pretentious enough to think that she doesn't need an editor. If she had been born a little later in the century, she would probably have a LiveJournal and post her fiction there. It should be noted that she is a Christian writer, and wrote a book called Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt. I'm pretty sure that her entire fanbase ignored this book because a Christian author kind of makes The Vampire Chronicles less cool (if you could call them that). Because her books contain rampant slash, bishounen, poor grammar, crossovers and other ****, there is no need for Anne Rice fanfiction. The books themselves are fanfiction enough.

But does my problem reall lie within the culture itself? Partially, yes, but my real issue is the following:

These people think that if you aren't a vampire, then you can't understand them. They assume that I must have seen them on a C.S.I. episode (there was one about "vampires" where they were depicted unfavorably, according to them), or that I must be talking about "Hollywood" vampires. I understand them plenty and I can say in full confidence that the claim "all vampires don't feed" is a steaming load of ****. I can also see the hypocrisy that they can't in throwing stereotypes at someone that doesn't like them. Assuming that I must have seen some C.S.I episode because I don't like them? **** no. Their whiny and self-pitying claims are just about all the horseshit that this world can take on a daily basis and their outdated suppositions about their detractors are clearly a part of some persecution complex.

They tell me that I don't have any right to judge them, but yeah I do. I have every right to judge them based on the group they belong to, because they actively chose to belong to it. It's not a higher force, like religion. Or genetics, like race. I wish they'd stop comparing their mockery to persecution or oppression because it simply doesn't fit that bill. I've also got plenty of reasons to make that judgement a negative one to each distinctive individual. I can use their affiliations as a sign of their stupidity and lack of self-confidence, and the most prominent reason is the most obvious: If you weren't a whiny, self-pitying asswipe, then you wouldn't be a vampire. But you know, I don't have to judge anyone based on the group they belong to.

If they had actually broken out of their whiny shell for a second they would have realized that the things I hate the most aren't the vampiric blood-drinking Eurotrash stereotypes, nor their internet forums which spawn so much drama and crappy fanfiction. If those were the nerdiest thing I'd seen I'd be lucky. No, the thing I hate the most are the self-aggrandizing ****tards who think they're making this **** look good instead of exactly what it is. These idiots claim that "I don't understand them," thinking that no one could understand AND dislike them. Im-****ing-possible! Their quasi-intellectual ******** and their nauseatingly asinine persecution complex is worse to me than any private sexual fetish (except fur******ry).

Twilight's vampires aren't vampires... they are more like hacks of Laurell K Hamilitons Hack job of the Sidhe fey. That suck the blood of animals.

Here's the thing vampires in the original myths were not vunerable to sunlight. That's a recent addition to the mythos.

Heck our 4e vampires aren't even destroyed by sunlight.

But vampires are never described as -sparkling- in the sun. Nor being well.... ****ing retarded. Twifail is Twifail. It gets it's own special category of Fail.

Maybe some do, but I really doubt that most of them do. It's a fantasy. Is it inherently stupid to want to belong to one fringe culture or another? Your peers have a right to judge you because you have some strange ideas or made some stigmatic lifestyle choice?

And what if they do think they're vampires? What if they're lonely and wanted to identify with like-minded people? I felt the same needs as a geeky kid, I just clung to different and more traditional fantasies and subcultures.

Not to get heavy, but you're praising a hate-rant:

Awesome_Dude proposes that all 'vampires' are whiny, stupid, self-pitying asswipes - and that he can use their 'affiliation' with vampire culture to identify them as such, and to justify looking down on them.

I won't go into why, but think that I can say with confidence that the majority of 'vampire culture' is indulging in a fantasy. Let's assume for the sake of argument, though, that what you're expressing here is true.

Ok, ok. Seriously, though. I think you're just hating on a sub-culture that you don't like. The AIDS virus is not prevalent in 'vampire culture'. And said individuals are no more likely to engage in risky or promiscuous sexual behaviour (including the blood-fetish thing) with strangers than any other sexually-active subculture.

Do you have a big problem with homosexuals also, on the basis that their lifestyle requires them to be more romanticall particular and more sexually responsible on account of the risks inherent to their sex lives?

No I'm surprised it hasn't run rampant yet because of a lack of awareness of proper hygene, and common sense when it comes to other people's precious red liquid we like to call blood. Along with a willing disregard for said precautions that have to be taken around blood.

What you're describing might make up maybe 1% of 'vampires'.

Maybe AIDS hasn't 'run rampant' within vampire culture because they don't at all behave the way you describe. Maybe you're misinformed, or making up 'evidence' in order to justify slamming a group of people that you don't like.

And while ridiculous generalizations are pretty funny, rampant hate really isn't. What if some gothed-out 'vampire' kid just pulled your ass out of a burning car? Would you say "thanks, you whiny, stupid, self-pitying asswipe". Are you still justified?

There's a small but important difference between laughing at someone and laughing with them. There's not a lot in this life that matters so much that you can't make horribly inappropriate jokes about it. We'd all be better off if we learned to find the humor in the horrible.

I think blatantly hating on somebody because you don't like the things they like is over the line, though. And this from somebody who thinks Holocaust jokes are funny.

Never said that. Never even said I agreed with AD's rant, just said it was a good one. Made me laugh. Y'know that part about people that want to do vamps. That was funny.

If some people ACTUALLY believe that they are vampires....yeah, they gots issues, so meesa stayin's awaysa. If they're just PRETENDING, meh, whatever. No, just a bit of an an internet superhero today, I guess. Which is worse? Who can say.

I've just known too many freaks to stay cool when the vitrol really fires up. I've been judged before, and it drove me to some pretty angry places. Elitism is elitism, and has no place on the D&D forums of all places.

I have got to start watching the History Channel! They did a story on why it's okay to judge and disdain vampires because of their unusual social practices?

No they did a story about said unusual practices.

I don't hate. I do judge however. It's unsafe behavior. I judge them like I judge Drug addicts or gangs. What they do is unsafe and potentially harmful to others.

Yes I have. You aren't justified. You're condemning a group of people who are by and large harmless and have no impact on your life outside of the fact that you just don't like them. What 'validity' is there in an opinionated rant? You didn't state any facts. You said that 'vamps' are stupid asswipes.

God forbid someone should come in here and make a straight-faced argument for the notion that gamers are smelly, pimply, and unlikable. I'm sure you'd keep your cool and laugh it off, but it doesn't mean someone's feelings wouldn't be hurt. There's no justifiable reason to single out an entire sub-culture just to call them stupid asswipes.

You didn't read it, then. Your support for me being unjustified in my judgment (aside from the laugable "You aren't justified.") is that they have no impact on my life? Puh-lease! I don't need to tell you the ramifications of that argument for every minority in existence.

Also, it's my right to judge the personal choices of others as I see fit. That's the wonder of being able to form opinions. I can judge a person's decision to shoot up his workplace, and I can judge a person's decision to dress in 19th century Victorian wardrobe and drink tomato juice while abusing the phrase "per se." Both are personal choices, neither really affects me, but I damn sure can and will dislike them doing it.

I don't hate. I do judge however. It's unsafe behavior. I judge them like I judge Drug addicts or gangs. What they do is unsafe and potentially harmful to others.

It's not terribly unsafe. Drinking fresh human blood is no more dangerous than having sex with a living human- if someone is a carrier for something, either way you'll get it. And even though there are some minor reprecussions, these "vampires" aren't going out and forcing their blood down the throats of people at the mall. Vampires are all willing participants, and know what they are getting into. They're not hurting anyone who doesn't want to be hurt.
And for the record, most "vampires" don't believe they are actually mythological vampires. It's a weird, morbid fad, that's all. Judging (and hating) an entire subculture based off the few wackos you saw on the History channel is akin to watching anything by Bill Maher and deciding anyone who is religious is a nutjob.
Those few "vampires" who truly believe they are actually vampires (rather than playing dress up with some like minded individuals so they can find some comraderie because they know too many people who are too quick to judge, like certain members here) have something wrong with them. It's about as ridiculous for you to call them "freak job f**ker" as it is for you to apply the same label to a person with autism.

And by the way, "gamer geek" is no where near as offensive as "freak job f**ker". That's the most ridiculous thing said in this thread.

My base is the way they choose to live their life and that is what I dislike. Me slamming them on the internet is just for getting others to laugh (or cry). It has no specific target and it's based on something that they very well could avoid if they wanted. I fail to see the harm.

The fact that you are. There's a small group of lonely people who, for the most part, lack healthy relationships and have incredible self-esteem issues and seek some sort of companionship the only way they can- by alienating themselves from the population at large (the population that has, with good reason or not, spit upon these "vampires") and banding together with other like minded individuals to engage in slightly morbid, and weird, but generally harmless and completely consensual activities. And you think you it is fine to completely degrade them and disregard their worth as human beings.

If you make negative judgements about people who you don't even know, simply because they have a weird hobby, it is kind of a jerk thing to do. Going even further and insulting them is even worse. No one can tell you how to think, but when you say things that are insulting, it is a jerk move. What if there was someone who visited this board who practiced vampirism? You'd be insulting them without even knowing anything about them. What if you did know them and thought well of them, but you just didn't know about that side of their life?

You did both.
they are clumsy, fat, socially inept, sartorially blinded ****-ups that are so pathetic that even the goths won't hang out with them anymore. They probably all have herpes too, except for the virgins.

"Real" vampires usually start out as complete social failures

I can use their affiliations as a sign of their stupidity and lack of self-confidence, and the most prominent reason is the most obvious: If you weren't a whiny, self-pitying asswipe, then you wouldn't be a vampire.

Now your rant could have been acceptable, and funny, had you attacked their lifestyle and pointed out how silly it was. But you decided to call every single "vampire" clumsy, fat, socially inept, ****ed-up, pathetic, social failure, stupid, whiny, asswipe, self-pitying, and lacking confidence. Those are all attacks on their character, not their hobby.
