#1 Rickenbacker Sep 14, 2008 16:02:02	A TOTAL novice here with that. Never done it. Just a few Qs.... 1. Are there hosting sites that allow a DM to create their own adventures? 2. Which are free? 3. One potential player has dial-up (yeah, I know) Any dial-up friendly sites? Thanks in advance!
#2 pyromancer999 Sep 14, 2008 16:28:48	Well, I know that WotC is crating software so that you can not only make your character on the computer, but ceate what it looks like, turn it into a mini, and create your own maps. don''t think that will be out for a while, though. anothe alternative is to do it through e-mail, IM, or maybe even the phone.
#3 chef_mike Sep 14, 2008 17:18:48	use a chat room with a dice feature, (I know aol has them) and they genearlly are dial up friendly. You can even use an online phone system (like vonage) to chat back and forth on the same channel. you could also type your descriptions into word, so you can cut and paste into the chat room for the pcs to view. Or you could simply vocalize it if you have the phone service. The chat room dice makes rolling easy, and everyone can get a word in.
#4 squarecircle Sep 14, 2008 22:34:44	Get MapTool. http://www.rptools.net/doku.php If MapTool doesn't work out for you (people seem to have problems with it) then you might try http://www.openrpg.com/ It's not quite as good as MapTool but it gets the job done. If you want to do voice stuff, you can get everyone together on a messenger that supports it (like yahoo) or grab Skype: http://www.skype.com/ (Don't worry about the prices on the homepage, look around, there should be a free version).
