#1 Vizjun Jul 17, 2012 16:30:22	Hello good people of the dnd forum. Today i am here asking for help. I am trying to find a red wizard hat like elminsters. Unfortunatley though i have found no such thing online. I found one close on etsy, but they wanted $100 for it which is too much. Any asistance on buying or making such a hat will be greatley apreciated.

#4 Mad_Jack Jul 17, 2012 19:04:07	If you have any sort of craft skill you can make one, but if you want a decent-looking one, you're going to pay almost as much for the materials as the other people will charge you for one - good materials aren't cheap. A search of pattern-makers websites will most likely turn up several patterns for various styles of wizards' hat, and a general google of "how to make a wizard's hat" will also probably turn up several methods of varying quality...
#5 ADHadh Jul 17, 2012 19:17:48	This thread made me want my own wizard hat. But a realistic looking and worn one, bendy in the middle, kind of like Paul Kidby draws for Rincewind: Show OK, this one may be a little too worn.

Yeah, to me shelling out $40 for a regular leather hat is a bit much right now. $100 for something I wouldn't be wearing that often... yep, not that badly
#8 Mad_Jack Jul 18, 2012 21:31:24	The traditional handmade Irish wool cap my avatar is wearing goes for about $60 or so... Basically, if you want a costume piece like a wizard hat or pirate boots, you either pay out the wazoo for it or you make it yourself.
