#1 guang Mar 24, 2010 1:47:55	I need to find a family-friendly easter-themed movie by this weekend. Not finding anything good. Any ideas? I was thinking "a wonderful life" would be up their alley, but that's Christmas, not Easter. Maybe something similar, but with an easter feel? Not really my kind of movie, feeling desperate. Help?

Since the true meaning of Easter is either the Festival of the goddess Eostre a goddess of procreation and fertility or the memorial for the crucifixion of Christ the more thematically appropriate movies tend to be too graphic for children. Rejected: Passion of Christ Most Romance and Pornographic films don't really catch the drift of attraction and love as gifts from the divine properly, so we'll toss those two.  (Indicative of a social phenomenon related to the contrary way that modern sex idols are treated) Default recommendation (because it isn't quite right but it's kinda close): The Princess Bride

Since Easter is really about chocolate these days, I'd go with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the one with the crazy squirrels. Else, I cast my vote on Princess Bride just because it's awesome.

I don't know that they'd end up scared of bunnies, but I do know that they'd likely cry.  And that's what holiday time with the family is all about.  Yummy tears.
