| #1Robin_HoodlumApr 17, 2010 8:17:51 | It sucks. Save your money. The original is much more entertaining... IMHO of course... |
| #2KlirshonApr 17, 2010 8:29:47 | Not that I've seen the movie myself; I have been informed of similar opinions of the film. |
| #3Robin_HoodlumApr 17, 2010 9:00:00 | Yeah... I wasted $20 on that movie... $20 I worked for... |
| #4evilveganApr 17, 2010 9:03:20 | Loved it. Cheesy Acting: Check. Bad Storyline: Check. Giant Scorpions: Check. Snake Woman: Check. Giant fish man getting turned to stone: Check. Its an action movie based on a somewhat silly 80s movie, what exactly were you expecting? The pacing in the first one was more like a fantasy-adventure story and this one was more of a straight-up action movie. I didn't pay though and I went in expecting absolute garbage from all the reviews. Don't see the 3D version and go to a matinee. |
| #5Robin_HoodlumApr 17, 2010 9:06:20 | What was I expecting? Something worth the money I paid. The movie was horrible... |
| #6Cpt_MichaApr 17, 2010 9:31:36 | So it's on par with the original. Should make for an entertaining watch then. (Especially as I only spend $8.00 for my tickets :-p) And by the way, welcome back buddy. We've missed you. |
| #7Robin_HoodlumApr 17, 2010 9:33:52 | As bad as you think the old one was, the new one is worse... And thanks! I'm glad to be back! Although some people are probably groaning... ![]() |
| #8Cpt_MichaApr 17, 2010 9:36:40 | Pfft. Those people can go suck an egg. I dunno, it's pretty hard to be lower than the original. I mean really if it weren't for the sheer novelty of the first one (and by courtesy the second) I would probably trash it like I routinely do Michael Bay Films. |
| #9pigknightApr 17, 2010 11:30:56 | You're alive! *Huggles* <(^o^<) |
| #10Ragnar_LodbrokApr 17, 2010 12:23:09 | As bad as you think the old one was, the new one is worse... I'm apathetic, not groaning. |
| #11Robin_HoodlumApr 17, 2010 12:42:34 | I'm apathetic, not groaning. I'll accept that ![]() |
| #12scypioApr 19, 2010 12:31:55 | I liked the new "Clash of the Titans". The original was better, but this one wasn't so bad. I liked the story better in the original, but the remake had better action and visuals. The monsters looked pretty badass and I think I'm a fan of Sam Worthington even though he's just a bro in all his films. I didn't really like how they portrayed Zeus, but overall it was pretty good. It was very God of War-like. Although I agree with your sentiment with 3D. I hate 3D, especially this case where the film was just upcoverted into 3D. That was extremely lame. |
| #13zombie_babiesApr 19, 2010 12:37:37 | I have some friends that saw this and they warned me away from it despite my comments indicating I never had even the slightest desire to see it. Apparently, they thought it was truly awful and I guess that the way the 3d was handled (after filming) was really, really bad. But I don't really care cuz I didn't waste any time or money on it. |
| #14scypioApr 19, 2010 12:45:32 | I think the original was better. |
| #15Cpt_MichaApr 19, 2010 12:47:12 | Well 3D Tvs are hitting the market now. (which means 2d LED tvs will be coming down! WOOOOO) So I think this time 3d is here to stay. |
| #16zombie_babiesApr 19, 2010 12:47:49 | I can't remember the specific complaints, but I do remember there were specific complaints. And that, hopefully, will complete my utter uselessness to this thread. |
| #17scypioApr 19, 2010 13:03:25 | I don't understand the 3D craze. But I can only hope that it fails again. |
| #18zombie_babiesApr 19, 2010 13:04:47 | Meh, it was good in Avatar but Avatar was intended to have it. It wasn't an afterthought. I don't see the TVs catching on, really. You still need to wear stupid glasses. |
| #19boraxeApr 19, 2010 13:21:54 | It's an action movie. "Cheesy" and "mindless" are the defaults for the genre. The original Clash of the Titans is crap. Only the rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia make it seem otherwise. There's no such thing as a humble opinion. |
| #20KlirshonApr 19, 2010 13:52:57 | I'm estimating that Robin_Hoodlum meant in his honest opinion. As for the original being crap, I wouldn't know. I don't have interest in observing it nor its remake. |
| #21MechaliburApr 19, 2010 15:28:43 | I've seen so many complaints about this movie, but I haven't seen any about the thing that bothered me the most. They completely screwed up Greek mythology. I mean... I understand that certain liberties need to be taken to adapt the story into a movie, but this is just ridiculous. THE KRAKEN IS NORSE, PEOPLE! Though I suppose "Release the Leviathan" wouldn't have had the same ring to it ![]() |
| #22Robin_HoodlumApr 19, 2010 15:33:57 |
I didn't mean to infer that my opinion is humble... it is not. ![]() Klirshon is correct in that I meant my "honest" opinion... (not that I would give a dis-honest one...) |
| #23dragomApr 19, 2010 17:39:16 | The original Clash of the Titans is crap. Only the rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia make it seem otherwise. It never really was a masterpiece. It was neat for it's day, but it's endeavor to bring the Clever counter point of the Brutish Hercules to film was pretty pretty much hack work. |
