It sucks.
Save your money.

The original is much more entertaining...

IMHO of course...

Not that I've seen the movie myself; I have been informed of similar opinions of the film.

Yeah...
I wasted $20 on that movie... $20 I worked for...

Loved it.

Cheesy Acting: Check.
Bad Storyline: Check.
Giant Scorpions: Check.
Snake Woman: Check.
Giant fish man getting turned to stone: Check.

Its an action movie based on a somewhat silly 80s movie, what exactly were you expecting?

The pacing in the first one was more like a fantasy-adventure story and this one was more of a straight-up action movie.

I didn't pay though and I went in expecting absolute garbage from all the reviews.

Don't see the 3D version and go to a matinee.

What was I expecting?
Something worth the money I paid.

The movie was horrible...

So it's on par with the original. Should make for an entertaining watch then. (Especially as I only spend $8.00 for my tickets :-p)

And by the way, welcome back buddy. We've missed you.

As bad as you think the old one was, the new one is worse...

And thanks! I'm glad to be back!
Although some people are probably groaning...Wink

Pfft. Those people can go suck an egg.

I dunno, it's pretty hard to be lower than the original. I mean really if it weren't for the sheer novelty of the first one (and by courtesy the second) I would probably trash it like I routinely do Michael Bay Films.

I liked the new "Clash of the Titans". The original was better, but this one wasn't so bad. I liked the story better in the original, but the remake had better action and visuals. The monsters looked pretty badass and I think I'm a fan of Sam Worthington even though he's just a bro in all his films. I didn't really like how they portrayed Zeus, but overall it was pretty good. It was very God of War-like.

Although I agree with your sentiment with 3D. I hate 3D, especially this case where the film was just upcoverted into 3D. That was extremely lame.

I have some friends that saw this and they warned me away from it despite my comments indicating I never had even the slightest desire to see it.  Apparently, they thought it was truly awful and I guess that the way the 3d was handled (after filming) was really, really bad.  But I don't really care cuz I didn't waste any time or money on it.

I think the original was better.

But I thought this one was pretty decent. It had pretty good action scenes and the character design for the monsters was pretty good. Visually, I thought it was pretty excellent, although I thought Zeus looked retarded. So for a random action movie, I thought it was good. So I don't really understand what was so horrible about it.

And they really need to stop making 3D movies. But if you're going to make a 3D movie, at least do it right. In Avatar, you can at least notice the 3D-ness and see something interesting. This movie's 3D-ness was just flat out horrible. It was barely noticable and when it was, it didn't add anything.

Well 3D Tvs are hitting the market now. (which means 2d LED tvs will be coming down! WOOOOO)

So I think this time 3d is here to stay.

I can't remember the specific complaints, but I do remember there were specific complaints.  And that, hopefully, will complete my utter uselessness to this thread.

I don't understand the 3D craze. But I can only hope that it fails again.

Meh, it was good in Avatar but Avatar was intended to have it.  It wasn't an afterthought.  I don't see the TVs catching on, really.  You still need to wear stupid glasses.

It's an action movie. "Cheesy" and "mindless" are the defaults for the genre.

The original Clash of the Titans is crap. Only the rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia make it seem otherwise.

I'm estimating that Robin_Hoodlum meant in his honest opinion.

As for the original being crap, I wouldn't know. I don't have interest in observing it nor its remake.

I've seen so many complaints about this movie, but I haven't seen any about the thing that bothered me the most.

They completely screwed up Greek mythology. I mean... I understand that certain liberties need to be taken to adapt the story into a movie, but this is just ridiculous.

THE KRAKEN IS NORSE, PEOPLE!

Though I suppose "Release the Leviathan" wouldn't have had the same ring to it

I didn't mean to infer that my opinion is humble... it is not.Wink

Klirshon is correct in that I meant my "honest" opinion... (not that I would give a dis-honest one...)

It never really was a masterpiece.  It was neat for it's day, but it's endeavor to bring the Clever counter point of the Brutish Hercules to film was pretty pretty much hack work.
